This should be a very interesting match with both teams missing key players. LA has been struggly of late and has trouble scoring when Baby-Cakes (Landon) isn't avaliable. I know we will miss our players as well but I think we have enough depth to get the job done.

Guessing who will start is a bit of a crap-shoot.
Biggest question is who matches up best with TnT and will start up top as the second forward. My guess is Edozien with get another start.

I see this as another Rev win :D

they cannot win when he plays bad (3-0 at SJ), so I agree his absence will be a big advantage for us, my guess is 1-0 us, GO REVS

Both teams missing three players ... should be an interesting bit.

Of course ... we've got just a wonderful history at LA. :(

    Riley, Joseph, Dorman, Pepe, Leonard
    TnT, (Edozien or Smith)

Bench: Warren, Cassio, (Smith or Edozien), Latham, Larentowicz

    No bad

Big field where speed is a factor. Flank play will be key.

I still say this looks like points for the Revs

I'd love to agree George ... trust me, but this place has been a hell-hole for the Revs. That's what scares me.

New England will be without Clint Dempsey, Pat Noonan, Steve Ralston, Avery John, and Felix Brillant for this match due to National Team commitments associated with the Gold Cup. I believe we will have Matt Reis if I'm not mistaken.

I believe Los Angeles will be without Landon Donovan, Tyronne Marshall, Michael Umaña, and Guillermo "Pando" Ramirez for this match due to National Team commitments associated with the Gold Cup. Los Angeles might be missing a few players due to injury, but MLSNET hasn't updated their injury report in almost 3 weeks. Pete Vagenas injured his groin in warm-ups prior to the E-Quakes match, but I've yet to hear as to his status for Monday.

This was LA's starting 11 against San Jose on Saturday night:

    GK: Kevin Hartman
    D: Ugo Ihemelu
    D: Tyrone Marshall
    D: Michael Umana
    D: Todd Dunivant
    M: Jovan Kirovski
M: Cobi Jones (Alan Gordon 58)
    M: Paulo Nagamura
    M: Guillermo "Pando" Ramirez
    FW: Landon Donovan
    FW: Ednaldo da Conceicao

Jay Heaps and Shalrie Joseph really need to keep their noses clean this week, as both are on offcial warnnig from MLS due to caution point accumulation.

Weather looks fine for July 4th, with sunshine and game-time temps in the 70's.

Los Angeles loves to play the offside trap, Kirovski loves to shoot, and Naldo likes to try and make runs in behind defenders.

With such a large field, I really think this is a game that suits players like Riley and Cassio, especially with the Galaxy missing their most experienced defender, and especially if Twellman is ready to go for some, if not all of the match. I'm not sure if such a large field suits Franchino.

This isn't going to be an easy match, and the Revs cannot afford to play without composure and consistency. However, if the Revolution come out with and maintain pressure all game, I think we stand a good chance to come away with a win.

i'm worried because LA just got spanked in a series of away games. im sure they were very homesick and will be anxious to come out hard, win in front of their home crowd (as they've been able to do all season) and get back on the right track.

i like our chances, but i think this is has the makings to be a VERY tough game.

LA is 6-0-2 at the home depot center.

I figure this to be a very tough game, but I'll take our chances without Donovan on the field for LA. It would have been nice for Arena to call in Cobi to the US camp as well.

It would also be nice for Joseph and Heaps to stay clear of that next yellow. Heaps is on 2 games "Good Behavior", and a third should reduce his caution points to 15. Joseph must stay clear of cautions for the next two games to get a similar reduction in points.

I too would like to see Cassio on a wider field. Riley seems to get ton's of space, but rarely uses his pace to get behind the defenders. I kept waiting for him to run through against the Mutts, but he seemed very reluctant. Even though he had the speed mismatch over the defenders, and all that room.

    How about ...

    ------------ Reis ------------
    Heaps -- Parkhurst -- Franchino
    ----- Joseph ---- Dorman -----
    Riley ----- Cancela ----- Cassio
    ---- Twellman ---- Edozian ----

Bench: Warren, Smith, Larentowicz, Vercollone & Leonard (if he can go), otherwise Romaniero

It's not our best lineup, but the defense should be good, and with Twellman back, we will have an offensive threat. Cassio or Riley will need to pick up their play on the wings, and provide another threat for us to get goals.

Well I guess Cassio getting his walking papers today frees up a slot on the bench. I wonder who will be making the trip---Holmes or Rominario?

For 9 seasons LA has been a Revo graveyard.
If that is ever going to change it would be this year.
I'll be checking out the odds for NE at my sportsbook.

Two things that should raise warning flags, we have had a lot of problems defensively with both of these things. Plus, I’m pretty sure that LA's last game was rock bottom for them so I’d look for them to play much better at home in front of a big crowd.

This will be a tough game for us no doubt.

Hey Revs-West.....My Girlfriend and I will be there, Probably in a section near the riot squad.....maybe 137.

It would be nice to be the first to beat the galaxy at the HDC this year but I wouldn't bet on it, I'm still expecting a loss but hoping for a win.

Now, the last few weeks.. the picture mojo has been working, real strong. Conan 's triumphant words led to much lamentation amongst the Cowbus women..

Then Dirty Harry Callahan dared the Metroscum to make the Revs day. Funny, the Revs made our night. So the Revs Picture Mojo is real strong. Even when we lost, Admiral Ackbar saw it coming.

But today, we have a different person providing picture mojo. Despite the fact that he will be with the US team for the July 4th game, we took the Galaxy's so-called Superstar, Landon Donovan.. and asked him how he ended up back in the US after flaming out so spectacularly in Germany.

"You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."

I guess we're gonna have to start call him LamBum Donovan? :D

COME ON YOU REVS! Just like the Celtics in the 80's.. we're going into their house and we're going to...
