There have been 15 instances where a country has fielded squads with at least 10 returning players from the previous Cup. 4 of them are in this Cup! Even stranger, though: of those 15, exactly 2 have done better in the second Cup than the previous one. Those 2? 2006/2010 Netherlands and 2006/2010 Spain! (Of course, to be fair, one of those repeats was Brazil winning in 1958/1962, so they couldn't actually "do better" in the second one. And another was the Netherlands making it to the 1974/1978 finals, albeit losing both.)
