I'm so conflicted right now. My 3 year contract is now legally up (though I suppose morally I should buy one more season to make up for the covid year) and I need to decide to renew my tickets or not. They're not requiring me to sign a new contract which I think is odd, but probably because they can't sell the club areas now.

As I've mentioned in the past, I've become apathetic toward the Quakes. I don't think the team will bring me joy until there are better owners and my seats are expensive. But I love watching live soccer (even if I don't care about the teams), do like my seats and the VIP parking benefit.

I could easily convince myself that I should buy one more year pretty easily and maybe I should to see if MA can pull a rabbit out of his @SS. So much conflict.

Renew or not to renew... that is the question.

I understand your conflict my friend. If COVID had not happened, I don't know what we would have done this year, but it made the decision easy for us to not renew. I'm close to retirement and spending more time away from home for parts of the year. So, it would be hard to take advantage of all of the tickets.

Our moat contract came up a couple years ago, and with most of kids older and not around, we decided move up to seating in the first couple of rows (moved from five seats to three). We still have access to the moat for eating and the parking, but I like the view better above.

Still, our youngest ask about attending games again and we have so many great memories. So, I expect to be back, but only for select games.

We talked about it a little today. With the world still in such a state of flux (who would have guessed that?!?) it's hard to fork over $thousands for next year, wondering if Covid Omega will be devastating the world in six months.

Too, we really like the convenience of hanging out in the sunroom watching, and the tv has a much better view than we get in the stands, plus dogs are allowed. Games take about two hours out of the day instead of five, and we don't have to deal with the myriad hassles related to the stadium. Maybe if we belonged to an SG, but we don't, and maybe if we weren't introverts, but we are.

I'd go for an 8-game package or something like that. But right now it's hard to imagine a near future where we are going to want to go to every game.

We’re planning on moving to Madison, WI next year, so I likely won’t be at any games past next May or so…

As I said in the other thread, I'm not going to pay to watch them fire MA. Mostly, I'm just not on the same page as Fisher in terms of ambition for the club and it's frustrating. I'll be watching most of the games from home and I will go to a few games as well.

bsman, I assume you'll be following along up there in WI?

Relocate to the upper deck. Much better view of the game, and from what it sounds, a lot cheaper.
And fyi, all the cool people are in 107.

I opted for a refund last year and didn't renew this year... I don't feel safe going to any public events for a while yet, even with vaccine there's still too much risk for vulnerable people (my partner I live with is immune compromised). So I hope I can start up again next year, but I can't decide that for a while yet.

Unlike all of the Debbie Downers here, I will likely renew as well. The pandemic has made me appreciate the things I value a little more. Yes, we get frustrated with the Quakes performances, but we do have an MLS team in our backyard, and the games are not expensive, and well, there's always next year! Also, I go low-end, I'm not a moat-er like some of you :). The tickets are still very reasonable.

I support everybody in his/her decision to renew or not. It's personal, and there are a lot of factors at play, so I think it's impossible to generalize.

The only remorse we have had was not being able to see live in person soccer during the lockdown. Would we like the results to be better Hell ya, but being at the park is the best.

It's what I grew up with (ice fishing and x-country skiing) - and we plan on spending several weeks during the winter in California!

There seems to be quite a few here who can easily renew but have decided not to.

Just imagine having been stuck in the completely opposite situation since the end of the 2016 season.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

When I leave, if you want I can put in a good word about you to the gameday operations folks so that you, too can not only see the games but get minimum wage for doing so!

...or to play for them! Let me in there. I’ll dump a bunch of balls into space for Cade and rack up a few assists in my first game. “Now entering the match for Chofis, number 00, JazzyJ!! :)

Never know if Cade is going to score, but, you would rock the "key passes" category.:D

Only problem is me actually getting the ball and being able to pass under pressure. Not likely!!
