I prefer traditional names so "Baltimore City" wins my vote. Always loved the name Sheffield Wednesday, Baltimore Wednesday :D

I like the Crystal Palace branding, but I see "USA" on some websites" and "Baltimore" on others. The team needs to pick one and stick to it.

Like the lacrosse team? I guess naming your NASL team after a storied lax program is not the worst idea ever...
So many options with the Maryland flag alone. Red, white, gold, black.
How about something related to knights? After all, jousting is the official state sport.

The name isn't going to change. It's a way of advertising the UK team to a wider population.

    How about the Baltimore Banners.

It hasn't been used since the mid 70's when there was a team-tennis franchise in the city by that name.

For those not in the know it refers to the Star-Spangled Banner of Francis Scott Key, Fort McHenry and National Anthem fame.

Yeah, we know what it means.

If we're gonna suggest past Baltimore team names here, why not call the team the Baltimore Skipjacks?

At least the Bandits jerseys rocked. My favorite hockey jersey to date.

They did indeed. Glad I got to see them a couple of times when they came my way.

Too bad they only lasted a couple of years.

BTW, I wonder if there's any chance that CPB could enter a partnership with the Baltimore Blast to use their name for the outdoor team. We all know how successful the Blast were (and still are) indoors.

I would say it is very doubtful. CP Baltimore burned a LOT of bridges a couple years ago with local group when they entered the league. They tried to negogitate as if they were big dogs.

Since then things have seemed to calm. However a bad taste was left in the mouth of Blast GM Kevin Healey who also runs the Baltimore Bays youth organization. The Bays, who eventually signed an agreement to become Chelsea's USA youth organization, were to become the CP Baltimore youth organization.

However jerseys were never ordered, monies were never paid, and agreements were left undone. Needless to say, I can not see this happen for a very long time. It is however possible. Although I think the Blast would see this as another 'Milwaukee Wave United' failure.

CP Baltimore(CPB), or FC Baltimore(FCB), or Baltimore City FC(BCFC).

    Good Luck Baltimore.

Time to reopen this debate as in all likelyhood the Crystal Palace link won't continue after this year. My choice is Baltimore Defenders. The "shield" would be the pentagon shape of the ramparts of Fort McHenry. This would include the small pentagons on each point of the larger pentagon. A charging revolutionary era minuteman silhouette would go over the shield with a background of either black and yellow from the Baltimore City flag or red, white and blue for the US. The colors would be either yellow and black or red, white and blue. Free advertisements would be provided for the Flag House and Fort McHenry in programs and field-side banners to show teh link between the name and the city. Defender's Day, September 12, the federal holiday for the Fort McHenry defense would be celebrated every by the team either on a match day if the team is in season or by a team sponsored festival if out of season. A drop to USL-2 would put September back out of season. Thoughts?

I think it's about time we went back to a horse racing theme. How about the Baltimore Stallions? We could bring back the horse head & stripes logo. I always liked the Stallions logo, name, and marketing concept.

Wouldn't mind that too much. Had season tix both years. Only potential snag is the Denver Broncos got rights to the logo after the Stallions moved to Montreal. It was part of the deal the NFL gave when they let Baltimore use the Stallions name which was under copyright by the NFL for St. Louis in 1992. Since there is no confusion between the two leagues and no continuity to the CFL Stallions it shouldn't be a copyright violation but copyright laws can be strange, especially with their "goodwill surrounding names" feature.

Nice, like the uniform, just change the name to Crystal Palace Baltimore. McCormick or even Domino Sugar would be a great sponsor! To bad Natty Boh is no longer in Baltimore that would have been an even better sponsor!

    I like Baltimore City FC

But to throw in some other, only partially serious, suggestions:

Baltimore Huns (you've got to know the accent to get that one)

Baltimore Knights (state sport is jousting, after all...)

Now that Crystal Place is out of the picture, time to close this thread and for a new one?

    I'm for Baltimore City FC.
