Happy happy, joy joy. Everton A West Ham H Newcastle H Stoke A Fulham H WBA A Boro H Chelsea A Portsmouth A Aston Villa H Wigan A Sunderland H Hull H Man City A We only play a top 5 side twice in our remaining fixtures. The optimist in me says that if we continue with the kind of form we've been showing against the teams around and below us we could be pushing for a European place. IMO Megson will prove the critics wrong if we take advantage of this easy run in.
I'd love to think so but I don't think we have the midfield for it unless we jag an amazing signing at the 11th hour. We're capable of staking out mid-table but that's about it for this year. Everton A - L West Ham H - Should win this but we're useless at holding a lead. Newcastle H - Winnable. Stoke A - This is a win. Fulham H - Draw at best WBA A - Should win Boro H - And again Chelsea A - Would love a point but Megger's record against the 4/5 is poor Portsmouth A - Will have a new coach and he'll get the Bolton Bounce. Loss Aston Villa H - As with Chelsea Wigan A - Draw possible, loss more likely Sunderland H - Would like a win but probably a draw Hull H - ditto Man City A - Ripping the Massives to finish ahead of them after they've unloaded Nigeria's GDP this season should be our season's goal. 20 points from 14. Mid twenties and higher if Davis keeps his form and we stop coughing up leads.
So far just as I have predicted. Please, don't gush We should beat NE Englands Premier Comedy Club, pity Nolan won't be around for it after joing UFC. I'd like to upgrade my prediction vs Hull to 'winnable'. Megson was much more astute with formation and subs on the weekend and if anything should have made them earlier.
If we can tighten up at the back then we'll win the majority of the remaining games. However if we can't I can see many 2-2 draws in our near future. I do agree that Hull are there for the taking.
Elmander is being played properly now as a playmaker it seems. 4-4-2 is working well, an injury to Davies and Elmander and we're going to have to rely on Taylor again, he's done it when we need it so far this season though so maybe we can grind out a few more than 4 results.
It's because we did what all other teams used to do against us... We went into it thinking "This team plays shit football and bombards the box, all we have to do is keep the ball and pass it around" How we don't learn from other teams mistakes against us I don't know.. People say Managers have to learn from their own mistakes but why not learn from other peoples mistakes?
