Reda Johnson gets his 2nd straight start for Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle managed by former Revs. assistant Paul Mariner.

He's 6'2, 190 lbs. who plays LB/LCB. He has French & Algerian citizenship. 1 Int'l appearance for Benin from a friendly against Algeria. Eligible for US because he's dad is an American of Beninian descent. Wonder if Bob Bradley has talked to Paul Mariner about him?

    HT 0-0

Love Plymouth but don't think Johnson has what it takes to A. make it on the national team and B. cares to play for the US. We really need to have some pride in us and stop going after players who can play for us through means other than A. they want to and B. they are actually American. Where's the pride in automatically chasing someone because they have an American father? Let's go for proper Americans (and at least if they aren't we go for someone with skill like Jones ;))

Please refrain from legislating who "proper Americans" are, as it drags threads off topic. Thanks.

I agree. Further, we should only have fans who are real Americans and cheer for American Clubs or foreign clubs with Americans on them. And all fans should have to sign a loyalty oath to the USSF. And maybe, just to clear it up, you have to trace your genealogy to pre-1800, at the latest to really be considered "American".

    How does that sound?
