You should have plenty of memory. If not its cheap and easy to put in a bigger hard drive into a PS3. Nope. I played the first one and can't really say it made Redemption's story any better. If there is a patch it will inform ya of one automaticly when you put in the game. Naw, graphics between the two systems, if there is any is pretty minimal. The pro's if any for the 360 online play is mostly due to how xboxLive works compared to PSN and not the game itself.
Thanks for the info , though it turns out that the PS3 version of the game does have a lower resolution than the 360 version of the game after all. It also turns out that the two systems' overall performances are generally pretty equal because while the PS3 has a more powerful CPU, the 360 has a more powerful graphics processor (though the 360's online play is more refined than the PS3's). -G
"Title Update 1.02 Now Available for Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360" (Saturday, 6/12/10) Hopefully this patches up saved games too. -G
The free downloadable Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack is scheduled to be available this coming Tuesday (6/22/10). -G
That was fun. My wife got it for me for Father's Day and she and my son are out of town, so I've had a few days to play. I finished the story/got to the credits and have hit 505 on achievements, but don't know how much more I'll keep at it. I got one Ambient Challenge up to 10, but I've a long way to go on the others and still have loads of bounties, strangers, games (played one game of horseshoes and that's it), rentals, etc. to do to get that 100% completion. I'll definitely go back and clear out my three remaining hideouts, but we'll see after that. I've enjoyed this and Gun -- anyone have a recommendation between Call of Juarez or Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood if I get in the mood for another western before a new one gets released?
Personally I'd get both. They are both pretty cheap now anyways. RDR might be the first R* game I've owned that 100% looks likely to be achieved. I didn't even bother in GTA4. Though I can't see myself going back into RDR to "fool around" with the world as much as I did with GTA4.
I just heard that there's a Special Edition of this game? If so, what does it include that the regular edition doesn't? -G
Yes, this song does play at least once during the game. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwizeeBTnk8&feature=player_embedded]Red Dead Redemption - Far Away[/ame] -G
The song first plays once you finally reach Mexico, right after Irish leaves after his conversation with you upon getting off the raft. That's as far as I've gotten to in the game so far, so I'm not sure if it also plays when you're hunting for that dude in the snow (which I'm assuming happens later on). -G
"Title Update 1.03 Now Available for Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360" (Wednesday, 8/4/10) -G
The first of four upcoming downloadable content mission packs (Legends and Killers) is scheduled to be available this coming Tuesday (8/10/10). Unlike last June's free mission pack (Outlaws to the End), this one will cost 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE and $9.99 on Playstation Network. Among other things, this pack will add eight playable characters from Red Dead Revolver as noted here (Part One) and here (Part Two). -G
Available today, but not early enough for me to be able to download before having to leave for work this morning. That'll give me something to look forward to once I get home, though. -G
I just got the game on Saturday and I've been attacked by 2 cougars. One killed me, I had no idea they were even in the f*cking game. He killed my horse in a second and by the time I turned he was chomping down on me. The second I was able to see coming and although he also killed one of my horses, I was able to get his ass with the slow shot mode (whatever it's called). I haven't seen a bear yet though.
You won't see bears until fairly late in the game, as they only live in Tall Trees. They are easily the most deadly predator in the game (but cougars aren't far off, and you can run into those all over the place).
how do I catch a horse out in the wild. I hear you have to catch em and break em to be able to keep them. I can't figure it out! Also, are there any outfits in Armadillo I'm not finding?
