at 13:30 Eastern Time on Fox Soccer Channel from White Hart Lane, the FA Cup Quarterfinal... Another challenging match. Go Tim!
BBC ticker says Knight and Boyata are the starting CB's for Bolton (but they haven't posted the full lineup yet). They also are reporting Ryan Nelson is starting for Spurs.
Bolton: Bogdan, Ricketts, Knight, Boyata, Alonso, Reo-Coker, Muamba, Pratley, Ryo, Petrov, Klasnic bench: Jaaskelainen, Eagles, Tuncay, K Davies, Ngog, Ream, Vela I just read that lineup on a Bolton forum, and lost all interest in this game.
BBC has Ream on the bench. 5 changes from the team that beat QPR last week, Coyle said the league was more important than the FA Cup, so maybe he is resting those guys since they play Villa on Tuesday. Next 2 games after that are 6 pointers with Blackburn and Wolves, fellow relegation candidates. So these next 3 are arguably their 3 most important games of the season.
FA Cup match. Friedel has sat many of these over the years. In fact, to prolong his career, I believe he prefers to deputize these Cup matches.
I turned on the tube and see the message on the screen. What happened? I know who it involved. Obviously they are saying much in respect to the incident.
Nobody knows but it's possibly a heart attack. The medical staff were on the pitch trying to resuscitate him.
I only saw a glimpse of it as the cameria was focused on the action, which was about 30 yards from Muamba. He just seemed to go down as if he was either epileptic or having a heart attack. Paramedics were brought out and he was carried off on a stretcher. Absolutely shocking. I am in disbelief.
Awful. I hope he is okay. I just turned on the stream. You could hear a pin drop at White Hart Lane right now.
On bbc game stream- Espn reporter says that Muamba was not breathing when they carried him off the field and that they were still performing CPR and defibulator.
Sucks. I've had this happen in my games twice. Last time, the guy was lucky that one of the opposing players was a cardiac surgeon and a couple other guys were MD's as well.
wow - shocking scenes. Checking out Muamba's wiki page.. at first it saird "was a footballer" then I refreshed it a couple of minutes later and it was back ot "is"... now says "Fabrice Ndala Muamba (born 6 April 1988) is a footballer who plays for Bolton Wanderers as a midfielder in the Premier League. He previously played for Arsenal and Birmingham City. At international level, he has represented England at under-21 level. GET WELL SOON MUAMBA, WE LOVE YOU!" Agree with that last part... hang in there Muamba!
You know these are just edits made by people like me and you, right? (I'm sure you know that, of course. But it seems certain people think there's some omniscient Wikipedia god who sort of keeps the world abreast of all goings-on...)
