I think Koeman will go all out in this Super Cup. Highest chance to win a trophy this season, also could be a boost. Players like Griezmann, De Jong, Pedri...can win their first tittle here.

Copa Del Rey happens after but Koeman probably only use rotation squad.

Messi and Araujo both miss today's practice and are doubtful for semifinal but not officially ruled out.

Messi will probably come off the bench if needed.

I miss reading Phil Ball since he left ESPN over 5 years ago, I know I found a column on some website a few years ago, just found this blog: https://ligafever.com/ but there's really not much there (last article is from November!). Did his son ever make it as a pro? He was in La Real's youth teams.

No Messi no Dest but Araujo joins 2 other CBs plus Alba.

    Ter Stegen
    Mingueza Araujo Lenglet Alba
    De Jong Busquets Pedri
    Dembele Braithwaite Griezmann

Yeah.... Dest on the bench but Messi out of the team altogether with 'physical discomfort' aka "the supercopa is not very important"

Well sure if it was a CL final he'd play, but it is a real injury, not coach's decision due to Super Copa being written off. He left practice early yesterday and then did not practice at all today.

This is not starting out like the recent meeting in the league between these two sides.

Great cross by Mingueza straight to Fartwaite's head.

We are finally showing some cutting edge to our attack.

The only Ball named players I see on Transfermarkt have been in England their whole youth careers (James, Dominic, and David) so I guess his son did not turn pro.

ESPN is showing it in English. Not sure if its an espn commentator or the international feed.

Great header - not easy to redirect that cross in mid-jump

Great cross from Griezmann too though FdJ had to reach back for it just a bit.

It's amazing how we can't counterattack anymore.

Props to Braithwaite who played the through-ball for Griez to put in the cross

Nice goal but lucky not to have conceded at some point in that half.
