Re: 2009 RSL In-Season News Thread, Part III The key for the RSL-RM partnership, really, is that Florentino Perez - the man with whom much of the early negotiation took place with Checketts - is back as RM president after a three year gap. What that means going forward is unclear, but you can't judge the inactivity of the Calderon years (at least after the agreement for the youth academy was signed in Sept. 2006, IIRC) to conclude definitively what may come next with Perez.
Re: 2009 RSL In-Season News Thread, Part III maybe to make up for those 3 years off Madrid could buy us a player?
Re: 2009 RSL In-Season News Thread, Part III Interesting - I always viewed Calderon as supportive of the partnership. In fact, I remember seeing him at the ground breaking with the players. If what you're saying is correct, that is good news indeed.
Re: 2009 RSL In-Season News Thread, Part III I am not convinced of what I wrote, if that means anything. I haven't paid all that much attention to the whole thing overall - just seemed to me that Calderon came in after the groundwork was laid with Perez prior to his Feb 06 departure.
Re: 2009 RSL In-Season News Thread, Part III Pretty interesting article from Bloomberg Financial about the negative aspects to the double RM signings.
Re: 2009 RSL In-Season News Thread, Part III as soon as RM got their new president, you had to know this was going to be one interesting transfer window... Can RSL get in on some action? Please?
Very true. With the likes of these two the only way we would see them is if we had a bigger stadium... and perhaps a better team. Still, the Galacticos will be a hard team to beat now... Im waiting for RM vs. Barca... complete showdown!
Kaka, C.Ronaldo, David Villa (maybe), Higuain, RVN, Robben, Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Casillas, Henry, Eto, all on the same field!
Re: Real Madrid to play DC United, plus other internation matches Yes, I'm one of them. Not a good enough value for me in tight times.
Source? Link? I've had my hopes raised and dashed far too many times on this site to accept anything without a source or link.
Bad Form. I was happy for a fraction of a second and then realized that Real Madrid will never live up to their agreement again. OK, kinda funny.
