Guys plz give Ron more time. He will be also a key player for us right?
I think he in not playing in the right position though our coach has to decide that but he will improve a lottttttt.Dont worry he will score regularly.

I would do this for the second half:

    Raul out Robben IN
    Kaka out Granero IN

    ---------Lass--Alonso-----------
    --Robben---Granero-----Ronaldo--
    ------------Benz--------------

    Then, Ronaldo out Higuain IN
    Benzema out RVN IN
    Lass out Diarra IN

    ---------Diarra--Alonso------------
    --Granero------------Robben-----
    --------Higuain--RVN----------

Who knows, maybe Alonso will come out and Guti in

Missed all three goals. People complaining about ronaldo should STFU. Seriously he is not used to playing with 3 people in front of him and with much less pace. Once he adapts he will perform to his level.

Great game.....ronaldo is actually playing well in my opinion....not forcing the issue......when he gets an opening he will take it. Check his pass for Benzema's second goal.....great stuff.

As much as I love Lass (and you guys know I do!), I wouldn't say that his price to performance ratio is spectacular, he did cost a little over £20m. But, he is definitely heading in the right direction in terms of prooving value for money.

He is playing decent against a team which is far from top level club. He is playing decent while ALMOST everybody around him are playing superb. He is playing decent and we paid 94 mio € for him.

So far in this preseason he's been far from spectacular. And yes, it's a preseason so no need to worry.

Value for money? In the last 2-3 years I would say Higuain and RvN. Higuain came for €12MM and RvN for €15MM. Are my numbers correct?

Can you please find that quote; I have never said that Marcelo should start ahead of Drenthe, I just don't think Drenthe is as bad as you make him out to be and Marcelo is not that much better to be honest.

CR9 has done fine so far in the pre-season. He will do fine this season. I can't wait for the 1st season game.

Raul and Ronaldo are doing fine... we are playing well as a team, and that's what matters. 3 - 0 up playing impressive possession football (remember, this is a TOTALLY new starting lineup we got here... they only played a couple games with each other, and look at them). And I'm very happy with our defense. I think we finally figured out our achilles heal, people. I'm optimistic and I think, based on today's performance and most of the other preseason games, we are finally ready to go for that final in the CL. Thank you Don Perez. Gotta say, I like what I see.

Sounbds like he is close to leaving. The announcers were saying Arbeloa will get the #2 but isn't wearing it today out of respect for Miguel Torres who took the number after Salgado left.

Anon... based on what we've seen... Marcelo is DEFINITELY the better option... not sayin Drenthe won't be world-class eventually, but Marcelo is currently streets ahead.

I was watching Lass videos all afternoon today. I've upgraded my view on him, he is a terrific little player. Can still improve in some areas still but he has been well worth every Euro. I was seriously considering getting a Lass jersey as my first 09-10 jersey.

He does have an assist and a couple of good shots... definitely not 90 mill material, but he's doing OK.

Defensively they are as good as each other (Marcelo makes less mistakes, Drenthe has better ball recovery), going forwards Marcelo is better - agreed.

Ok, so Granero on for Alonso
Pepe on for Arbeloa. Albiol playing RB currently. Garay partnering Pepe at the back.

Marcelo is surely better than drenthe going forward but they are both suspect to getting caught ball watching, wich is where drenthe higher athletic ability will always make him a much more reliable defender, the only problem with drenthe is he doesn't seem to handle pressure very well wich you can tell by him always falling around by himself.

Drenthe has the potential to be like evra whereas marcelo is definitely the heir of roberto carlos but he will always lack roberto explosiveness, that burst of speed especially against very quick full backs.
