Odegaard should start instead of Modric, he needs to rest. Also, Vinicius and Rodrygo instead of Hazard and Lucas this time. Maybe even rest Varane and play Nacho and Militao together at CB. We need some rotations.

With Carvajal out for 3 weeks i guess we can expect LV at RB tomorrow.

I feel uncomfortable with Marcelo and LV starting together. I know Casemiro is back, but we need a stronger defensive presence. Mendy is young. He does not need that rest.

I have not been satisfied with Mariano's performance, but he has not played much in the last two seasons. What do we expect from him? He at least scored a goal. So he needs a run of games. Against Villarreal, Zidane also tried to use Asensio as a false 9 at the end of the game. The verdict is still out. Zidane should try that again at the end of the game. If Mariano does not get better, we need someone else upfront before Benzema and Jovic return. I would actually try Rodrygo there too.

I assume most of us agree that Modric needs a rest.

 

I agree, if it were up to me Marcelo wouldn’t start outside of the copa but this is the line up I think Zizou will go with.

 

No way he starts Marcelo and LV together as our backs. If he does that this is one of your 'we underestimate our opponent'-classic.

 

Lucas Vazquez should always start at RW. Been saying this since cr7 left. Always useful and much better option than the others, It should be Hazard, Benz and LV upfront in the future. Absolutely helped us win la liga title last season.

Should be an easy win. I don't expect us to play well though. Can anyone remember any good plays recently? I struggle. Even in the league season win last year at the end, It was some of the worst football I've seen this club play.

There comes a point when you just want to get excited about the team again, there's no chance fans at the stadium would put up with this shit every week.

We were getting outplayed in the Barca match before the penalty (again). I don't remember any good football.

Would be good if we were honest with ourselves. The Zidane "we deserved more" rhetoric is not helpful.

 

We completely dominated the game against Inter 11 vs 11 and 11 vs 10, i agree the outcome should have been much better in our favour, our attack is still lacking but IMO we played good watchable football for 90 mins despite that, i am being honest with myself.

 

We were not being outplayed against Barcelona. If anything we looked the more assured side, at worst it was end to end.

The team looked great vs Inter even before Buzzhead saw red. The Mendy run and the Lucas shot among others?

 

Marcelo starting on the left and Vasquez on the right. Zidane will never learn to never put both of them at the same time. All the games Marcelo played at a starter have been lost. I hope we get a different result today.

 

Odegaard on the bench while 35 year Modric start back to back games after only a 3 days rest, interesting. I didn't miss this midfield combo at all.

I mean i love Modric but, this is going to be his 5th game in like 18 days. And why resting Mendy? He did not play for nt and if 35 year old Modric can play, Mendy sure is capable of enduring it too. Well lets see what happens.

 

Good point, but i honestly would rather have both him and Modric start those games alongside Toni, not a popular opinion but it's Casemiro that i'd leave out for those games.
