I expect horrid attendance numbers. 1/3rd will probably be empty seats.

I fully expect us to score 5 goals, but us not conceding... that's another story:(

I want us to get through this round. I don't care if we get knocked out later on but i want to make a statement now.

I would start the best formation now. We don't have another match midweek anyway.

I remember the Zaragoza match so well. Whenever I think of Cicinho, I think of that goal.

My friend was watching that match from one of those VIP boxes. I was so damn jealous! He bought me a Robinho shirt, which I will never wear again.

    Was that Woodgate? LOL! :D

Jeez, I miss those beautiful Beckham crosses from the right.

Seems that we get more cards from that flank these days than decent crosses. :(

I think I remember reading a few days ago on AS that only about 8.000 tickets were left for sale.

The reason I originally asked was because one of the reporters yesterday after the Atletico game said that we are indeed sold out. Full house! Lets rock it guys!

Let's be serious, scoring 5 without conceding is highly improbable even against Sunday League opposition. Specially because the other team KNOWS we have no choice but try to score 5, and can plan accordingly.

Everyone keeps saying 5 is the magic number but I think if we grab 4 goals then the tie is ours. I know it's still a lot but I can see a highly motivated team scoring a couple of times against Alcorcon.

The atmosphere should be intense, hopefully that would motivate the players enough to produce a magical comeback. In addition to the crowd this is up to Pellegrini to motivate the players, make them believe its do-able. Heres to a happy memorable night hopefully.

Yeah, but 4 only takes us to overtime and PKs. I don't see us scoring 4 (if we even manage that!) and taking the pedal off the gas to see what Alcorcon does. I also don't think overtime is in our best interest, seeing as we can hardly manage second halves as it is. If it's close enough in the last half hour, it's going to have to be one-way traffic and they can kill us on a counter.

Our only hope is to go balls to the wall, try to score a couple within the first half hour, and take it from there. But let's not kid ourselves about how hard this is.

I completley agree with what your saying, however, I just feel should we score 4 goals then the team will see the game off quite comfortablly. Interesting to see what an early goal or two could do to the confidence of their players. And also how well they can defend for the duration. Improbable, yes. But not impossible.

    I'm thinking:

    ---Benz---Ruud---Higuain
    -----------Raul-----------
    ---VDV------------Kaka---
    -Marcelo-Alonso-Gago-Lass
    ----------Dudek----------

    Should do it! ;)

What about the team selection? Will it be our best 11 or not?

I think we should play without a keeper, so we can encourage Alcorcon to shoot from the halfway line and thus regain possession faster.

Alonso and Gago in CB? Lol,no way man.
And for heaven's sake its not that difficult for a goal keeper to play 4-5 matches within 15 days,so we really need Cassillas there for the last protection.May be its not fair with Dudek but who cares? If we overcome that match Dudek will get more chances else it may be the end of this season for him for sure.

Haha, Laudrup what a party pooper.

If we start as quick and strong as we did against Zaragosa a couple years ago, couple early goals.. We'll win this easy.. The longer it take for ur to break them down for our 1st goal the harder it will be. 2-0 in the 1st 20minutes, our game.

If the same crowd from the Zaragoza match shows up and we knock like 2 in, in like the first 15, then we good. Hala Madrid.
