UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - GROUP STAGE| MATCH DAY 1 Real Madrid CF vs Werder Bremen Date: 18 September 2007, Tuesday Time: 20:45 CET Domestic League Form/ Standing: 11th 2 1 2 Last Match Result: Dortmund 3-0 Bremen Team News: Real Madrid Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu Sorry the thread took so long ... No Sneijder
Great thread, nuff_said. I believe that my boss is away at meetings 2 days this week. I'm really hoping one of them is Tuesday so I can fire up a stream.
It all starts with this one. It's been too long since we've won the European Cup, and in the meantime, AC Milan has narrowing the gap.
And this one will be on TV!! Yeah! ESPN Deportes .... yes, yes, yes !! Nuff, Great thread. I suggest you slip in a stinker every now and again because you are setting the bar way to high for yourself.
Heck yeah! Now the only question is whether I have the willpower to not check the score the entire time I'm at work and wait for the 9 o'clock rebroadcast or do I cave, follow it online (with the outside possibility of watching it streaming) and just watch it again later knowing what happens.... Oh the decisions.
Class thread, nuff, class thread. Note to self: Time to call satellite company to turn back on the package with 658 Spanish language channels just so I can get ESPN Deportes.
This is the reason i hate the fact that we got Bremen. I would much rather have Schalke or Stuttgart in our group instead, because simply, with these two guys, you know what to expect, while Werder is the most unpredictable top team in Germany in my opinion. But at the end of the day, you can't chose, and 3 points is what matters. I don't expect a goal festival. If they do get those crucial 3 points, the result isn't important to me, because i consider Werder a very uncomfortable opponent.
Topical off topic: For those who are interesting in playing the UEFA Champions League Fantasy Game, here is a thread (in our NSR subforum) about it and how to join our league. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=598228
Schuster on ROBBEN: From RM site today: I guess he might get some playing time on tuesday. I can't wait to see him play.
It may be a cliché, but the phrase "there are no easy games in the Champions League" seems the appropriate response.
I hope we rest Robinho for this match, eventually fatigue will catch up to him. Too bad I'll be stuck at school for this game, I'll have to watch it via stream or even worse, UEFA's minute-by-minute report.
This is arguably one of the most important games of the group stage. 'Resting' players shouldn't be an option. If anything, leaving him out of the second half this weekend, and giving him 45' in Valladolid as well might be the better option for example.
It's very, very obvious just how badly Bremen is missing Frings and Borowski. I think Real will have an easy time. I see 4-0. but hope always dies last...
I think we need to go into this game as we have gone in to the forst few games. They lost 3-0 at the weekend. But u reckon they did that to say to us look at us were crap. When they are really not. It's a though game but i think we can win. Lets see how it goes. Hala Madrid.
