nuff_said the greatest match thread starter in the world. But please don't watch the game live ever again. We know what happened when you watched the 1st half of the Seville game. :D

Nice thread nuff !! Overconfidence is something Capello never instills in the team, so i see us fighting for a win this game too .. Will Robinho be missed a lot ?!

I guess he will but we can use Beckham and Reyes on the wings. Its about time Reyes steps up and proves his worth.

Espanyol are in a good form of lately, it will be a tough match.

Becks is also out, 5th yellow. Unless.... are you thinking what Im thinking??
I think Robinho's red should be looked into as well. Or....??

Looks like it'll be Higuain-Reyes. Or a possible Guti start.

I just downloaded the match and the commentator explained the red

first yellow - Taking off shirt
second yellow - Celebrating with fans

The commentator said it was ridiculous, I definitely think the club should launch an appeal

^Thats news for me .. I thought he had recieved a yellow card in the game[ i couldn't remember] and got the 2nd one for celebrating .. Isn't "taking off the shirt and running to the fans" one sequence ?

I just read today's Marca.. Apparently Robinho got a yellow in like the 19th minute that wasn't caught on cameras, but i just had a quick glance over it, didn't see what it was for.

Even Capello did not know he had been booked...apparantly Robinho told him he'd been booked earlier but Capello (like the rest of us) did not know about it....

The ever reliable Rob Palmer said that Espanyol were trying to get this game moved to Friday. The comic genius that is Gerry Armstrong swiftly responded by saying they have no chance as Sevilla have to play on Wednesday and it wouldn't be fair. Three of us sat there for 5 minutes trying to think of a logical reason as to why Armstrong and Palmer started laughing.

I'd say that Espanyol will be resting a few players for the biggest game of the season. The game is pretty meangingless to them and maybe they would like to gift us 3 points to shove it up their not so nice Catlan neighbours. ;)

Robinho got his first yellow in the 71' Minute, according to livescore.com game stats.

It would be crazy if he was booked twice for his celebration.

^Weird, even the commentators (I watched 2 different broadcasts) didn't see it.

I hope the fans get into this match as much as the Sevilla one. Secod half, around the 41st minute, that was the first time EVER I saw the fans behind the bench jumping up and down, The stands were bouncing :D

Speaking of the moron that is Rob Palmer, I notice he used another of his RM cliches last night...."Capello will have bruised a few of the egos in the dressing room at half time". Apparently we are the only team to have big egos as none of the other teams have to have their egos bruised in the interval.
This is his standard post half-time remark whenever we have a less than perfect first half.

^ NOt forgetting the classic, "The game is just passing Raul by".

He also made one of the most indiotic observations I have ever had the misfourtune of listening to. It was near the end of the first hald and Ruud kept the ball in play and although it was marginally, Palmer thought that a Real Madrid fan had thrown another ball onto the pitch for Ruud to play on with. As UK residents I suggest we get a petition to get that clown of the air with immediate effect.

    Palmer is an onion.

If Robinho really had a yellow before the second one that it was stupid of him to celebrate like that, although I liked very much tha part of hugging with the fans. By the way, I did not know that hugging with the fans is a yellow card offense!!!

Ka zhveshur fanelen, per ata eshte ndeshkuar.

He didnt get the yellow card for hugging the fans but for getting his shirt off. Although he didnt just pulled it up to his neck.

As you can see on the data sheet, he got both yellows for the celebration.
He wasn't yellow carded earlier in the game, both yellow cards where shown after the celebration.

I'm with you guys. Remove him and the other kunt Gerry Armstrong  .Unfortunately, the same thing is telecast all around Asia, by a sister network of Sky Sports :( .

If I had scored under so much pressure, in such an important game against such a tough opponent, fighting for my team's first title in 4 years, I don't think I'd really be thinking whether its stupid or not to take off my shirt :D . I've always said it, this is a stupid rule by Fifa. On the other hand, Blatter wants women to be wearing tighter jerseys and what not. Twat.

I had to chuckle. Gerry Armstrong hates Guti and Rob Palmer asked him about the substitution. Armstrong said he would have brought in Higuain instead. Then when Guti started tearing Sevilla apart, Armstrong didn't want to talk about it. Palmer had to keep asking him direct questions. :D

In fairness to Armstrong & Palmer, they have the same schtik about all teams - they are not really anti-RM.
