Among the other good thing that can be said about The Midnight Riders---they sure do know how to say hateful things I'd love to hear the front offices explanation for this one.
Report just out: GOOD Jeff is A-OK with no residual from the hit to the face on Saturday and Simmons is no longer on the list. Twellman is again listed as "Questionable" Albright is listed as "Doubtfull" Castro and Badilla are still out but Castro is almost ready to resume full training.
Post Injury Report release: Twellman, Ralston Mansally, Larentowicz, Joseph, Nyassi Heaps, Barnes, Osei, Alston Reis Revs come out with guns blazing and go for a quick kill. If the Revs get a comfortable lead, Twellman out at 60' for Dube. Not sure if we will see Thompson or Tierney this week.
I'm not overly thrilled about this, but like PBI said, I hope the Revs are getting some $$ for it (doubful if it's even $20k though). Yes I've heard that RBNY's bringing some people up, but I have no idea how many. Rep'd.
Twellman----- -----Ralston Mansally----Joseph-----L'Wicz----Nyassi Igwe-----Osei-----Barnes-----Alston Reis
If we have learned anything over the history of the Revs it's that "Bunkerball" does NOT work. We can't threaten with the counter minus a credible striker. I can see letting TnT stay in and jog about at the halfline dishing balls around as a lone striker. We need to keep an attack minded, high pressure defense to win. It's their style and deviating from it has cost innumerable points in the past. Maybe not innumerable but a metric assload to be sure.
I love that because we finally got Twellman back, apparently all our offensive woes are no longer? "If the Revs get a comfortable lead..." Just a gentle reminder ... we've played 10 games. We've not had a lead of more than a goal in ANY game. In 18 of the 20 halves, we've scored a combined 6 goals. It should take more than one game before we start thinking about how the team will react with a comfortable lead.
I'm really high on Igwe and I think Heaps has been really inconsistent this year, and I'd like him to get a run out against a tired, but potentially speedy Red Bull team.
Excuse me? As an STH since '96 who played his first organized game of footie in 1965 and who happens to enjoy seeing the game and harassing the opposing bench, I have a respectful request. Back off on the cheap shots at those of us who sit along the sideline. We both appreciate the game. We both would prefer better quality on the left wing and the bench. Enjoy your gameday experience and I will mine. Thanks.
Seriously...why did the Revs allow this? Can the Minutemen bring the ball to midfield when we go to New Yo...er, New Jersey? Oh well. I pity RBNY anyway. The RB skydivers, skateboarders, surfers, and office janitors get to be in the nationally-aired commercials while their soccer team gets painted office interns doing a B-grade Blue Man Group routine in NYC.
Oh the answer is actually very simple. An event that will appeal to the casual fan at ZERO COST (heavy emphasis on zero cost). The FO likes cheap things
Oh c'mon now! Next thing you know, you'll be claiming we are still just one injury away from Armageddon or, other teams might adjust for twellman, or, just as we've heard for 1/3 of a season, that one (1) result doesn't say too much either way. Can't you see that this team is off to the cup?
