The New Meadowlands has finally been presented and its an impressive new stadium! Can we conjecture that RB PARK is dead in the water? Let's consider a few things.

    1. All the delays in construction have clearly put RB PARK into late 2009. Now considering that the New Meadowlands is going to be completed in 2010 isnt it safe to say that now its a slight possibility? Besides if you were truly interested in building the stadium, wouldnt you want to lay concrete in the Spring and Summer?

    2. The new stadium will have better access from NYC which was one of the major negative points of the MetroBulls.

    3. The Meadowlands Sport Complex was losing tenants like crazy. Maybe they made a last ditch effort to retain the MetroBulls and made some major concessions in the 11th hour.

    4. They always talk about NYC NYC NYC and how its the premier market in the country. Maybe the MLS now wants to finally market and promote soccer in NYC? Maybe this is the real reason why they take SO LONG is getting anything done.

    5. RB Park was a ploy all along to get the Meadowlands to concede certain factors and deals which would make the MetroBulls slightly more profitable?

Again these are all just what ifs. But looking at the chain of events, the delays in construction and the fact that SLC is building their stadium before RB Park it seems to be on reasonable ground. Also remember that Garber said he has a major announcement about the NYC area coming in NOV.

Anyone dare to touch this post constructively and without beating their chest?

When the primary purpose of having your own SSS is profitability, why then would MLS want to keep renting over-sized stadiums?

It would have to be the biggest "f*** you" in team history to lead the township of Harrison on for at least three years about a redevelopment plan that is supposed to breathe life back into the area.

So you're suggesting that RBP is just some sort of a conspiracy coverup? I don't even know what to say to that...that's almost like saying 9/11 was entirely planned by our own government. It's just ridiculous.

There's no way they're backing out. Garber wants the teams to have their own SSS-- I'm actually surprised we haven't seen him on the webcam digging a hole for the latrines just to make the construction go a little bit faster. There's too much money for Red Bull to earn from having their own stadium and too much money put into the project already. Also, NJSEA would still rule and they want to get away from them so that they can have the kind of atmosphere they want.
