Another big game, the first of two which if won, "should" earn the Rapids their first play-off game since Eisnenhower*. The Union are coming off, according to Coach Nowak their "best result of the season." The Rapids earned a point in Sandy. Casey won't be available. Will Omar be available? Will Baudet be available? Do the memories from Saturday night have any impact on the players? K.C., the team challenging the Rapids for the last play-off spot is playing in New Jersey against New York. This is the first of two very winnable games, considering the subsequent games, three points Wednesday is looking to be very important. *who?
He's the guy that built the tunnel, right? If we're a playoff team there's no excuse for anything less than 3 points. Of course if we get less than 3 points we probably aren't a playoff team anyway. If Cummings is back I think we see the same lineup as the FSL game with Cummings taking Casey's spot. If both Cummings and Casey are out then we're in bad shape and I have no idea who gets the nod.
They better not be, nor should Rapids fans be, taking the Union lightly. I may be the only one ... but I think Philly is a good team that has just been short this season on results - but long on good play.
If Omar can't play that means the leading scorers on the field for the Rapids are JL and Pablo with 2 goals apiece. I don't know what Mullan and Kandji did for their teams. This is a game where others need to come up big. The new guys, Smith and Omar if he plays or whoever replaces him if can't. I Agree with Mark, I think Philly is a tough team that has played some good soccer but were bitten early in the year by red cards and throughout the year by that one glaring error that we're all to familiar with. This is the most important game of the season, until the next most important game on Saturday.
The "Fish" himself told me yesterday that Omar will be playing. Keeping in Spirt with RSL Wrap up thread, will Philly be fielding their C squad ??
The sound you just heard was that zooming over my head? Edit - deleted other comment, the dogs needed rest and may the horse RIP.
The key question for me about the Rapids in this match - as much as whether or not Lummings is ready to go - is where they will be emotionally and physically.
Well great we have Omar! Who does he get paired up with? Kandji? Speed + speed could be a fun different look for the team. I cant wait for this game.
I'm generally a Casey fan (apologist?), but I wouldn't mind watching a game of Omar and Kandji running a defense into the ground. I expect a lot of shots, perhaps not a lot of goals, but a lot of shots.
DJ, I am not on a first name basis with the guy so name dropping would be inappropriate. However, and there is always a 'however', a quick review of the Rap's Org Chart would show a guy who could be called by some ( like me ) as ' Fish '. He's quite privy to the line up days before it's released. C-Ya All tomorrow night !
i dont know if he is playing. he posted on a friends facebook that he is resting still. dont know if that means tomorrow or not.
1-0 win, goal by Omar Cummings. I think the team will overlook the Union a bit to start and we'll be very slow in the first half. The Rapids get it together at halftime but have a hard time penetrating the Philly defense for more than a goal. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2010/09/unionunited-week-to-start-separation.html
The Rapids' website seems to think he is playing: http://www.coloradorapids.com/news/2010/09/cummings-kandji-partner-against-philly That should be fun to watch. I love 3 games in 8 days.

Anyone got a spare ticket for tonight's game for a neutral fan? PM me if you've got one. (Yeah, I know there are plenty available through "normal" means, but I figure that somebody has one that they're trying to get rid of.)
I don't, but if you come, stop by the Class VI/Pid Army tailgate south of the Cantina and introduce yourself!
That seems to be the general idea that I've gotten in the PMs from deron and GoRapids, both of whom have extras. I'll swing by the tailgate when I get there around 6:45-7:00.
I'm going to my first Rapids game tonight! I'm hoping the Rapids can pull out a win and qualify for the playoffs (and hopefully draw the Galaxy first round )
