In another soccer article in the post Rapids governor Charlie Wright confirmed he has submitted bids to SUM to host a Gold Cup match as well as a WCQ. Great news if we can get either.
This would be great for Denver, who hasn't hosted a WCQ yet. Especially against a team like Canada (not sure if they'll make the hex) or Jamaica (minimizing the hispanic non-US fan turnout to maximize home field advantage), but a Gold Cup match would be good, and should attract a good crowd for whoever plays.
