Looked to me like there wasn't anybody for Namli to pass to, so he tried the lofted ball to Lewis, who had a poor touch. Moreno thinks Namli had a pass to Rubio but I didn't see him open at all, and Namli had his head up the whole time.
Wilson needed to score there, but the ball got deflected so he didn't have time to react. Wouldn't have counted anyway.
This game doesn't feel like there's a comeback in it right now. Pretty disappointed with the tactical decision to deal with Vines' absence by changing to a formation that we haven't used all season. Isn't backing up Vines why we signed Betaishour midseason? Why not use him? Or Kelly? Or Wynne?
Maybe the downside of a young team, we went down a goal against the run of play and now we look like we're a man down besides the goal.
That's the problem with missing the season. I noticed neither Wynne nor Beitashour got any minutes. That surprised me.
One thing we clearly learned about this team this year. Rhythm is everything. Every time we had more than one week between games we looked like crap.
Namli lining up next to Price isn't working. We'd be better off with Bassett there and Namli farther forward. Or Acosta there and Beitashour at LB.
