PBP: Rapids @ Loons • 6 pm tonight

    A couple of observations about players' roles last night:

    Namli played the #10 role for the first time since, I don't know when. And Bassett was in the #8 role. I assume that Bassett was in that role because Acosta wasn't healthy and it was a way of getting him on the pitch.

    I like Namli better in the center of the pitch than out wide. It allows him to involve others in a way that he doesn't when he's hugging the touch line. Also, he seems to keep a higher pace in the center of the pitch compared to when he's wide where he slows things down a bit too much.

    On the flip side, I feel recently Bassett's best role has been as a #10 where he can go sideline to sideline and consistently be in a role to support others and initiate the attack.
