1-1 draw, goal by Galvan. Both teams have equal offenses but the Rapids have a slightly better defense. FSL is in a bit of a tailspin right now but I'm very hesitant to predict any kind of result in Sandy given our record there. We are on a two game win streak with a win there over Vancouver earlier this season and the 5-0 beat down we put on FSL to win the Cup last season, but I think 3 games in a week is going to be asking a lot with our depth issues. Getting out with a draw would be a solid, if maybe not hoped for, result. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2021/07/rocky-mountain-cup.html
FYI, Salt Lake streams their games for free through their TV affiliate, KSL. Last season they were watchable from Denver without any sort of VPN.
I want to feel good going into this game. But I’m not sure how I feel. I guess I’m too scarred from RMC games in the past. What the heck. Come from behind win 2-1 Rapids, with a laaaaate (88th+ min) winner by the boys in White.

It's been a wile since the Rapids played a road match, the last one was back in June at KFC. A match I don't want to spend a lot of time visualizing. I know that Fraser is a lot about attitude, but the formation he chooses is what really sets the tone almost regardless of who's on the pitch. If the Rapids come out with 5 in the back, they are basically inviting pressure. And when they win the ball back there is often no outlet. It seems to be contrary to what they have built to do which is put on the high pressure and don't allow the opposition to have an easy time getting to the Rapids back line. So, yes, I am hoping the Rapids come out in a 4-3-3. It will be interesting to see how squad rotation influences both the starting XI and any/all subs.
Two shut outs in a row. Can’t see three at RSL. I’m hoping for a 1-1 tie, with Shinyashiki scoring (after I abused him on Wednesday). But this has a 2-0 defeat written all over it. On Fraser’s behalf, he’s done a good job sharing the minutes.
Rubio listed out tonight with an injury: 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐗𝐈⚽️ 8:08 PM📺@AltitudeTV📻@AltitudeSR📱 #RSLvCOL#Rapids96 |@MyKingSoopers https://t.co/6FcDB9bupC— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) July 25, 2021 Other than that it looks like a 4-3-3. I imagine Warner will be the deep laying 6 and Price will be in a little more advanced role
Bassett’s due for another methinks. Said this last week and he had several opportunities but the final ball was a foot too far. Think he finds the late game winner tonight.
Wow, that's a lot of bitching over minor contact at midfield. They even got Price playing peacemaker!
