My sister lives in Bradenton, and her youngest kid plays on a local U-10 team coached by John Hackworth, who was Ellinger's assistant on the US U-17 team. A couple of weeks ago the rumor was that Hackworth was going to take over Ellinger's job, but she heard that Hackworth is now being considered for an MLS coaching position. I wonder if that posistion is in Colorado.
Seconded. I'm not sure 'Celo would necessarily be great at the more technical demands of coaching, I would prefer a career coach with some previous coaching success at the professional level. I do think 'Celo understands the MLS very well and would be able to work within the system to build a solid team that could contend for a title. Not to mention, he'd choose a good coach. Engine before the caboose here, I think the Rapids should can Counce, hire 'Celo as GM, then find the right coach.
Kind-of B. My implecations were that prehaps Ercoli was advised not to go to the press conference and accept the "other position within the organization" because he had been approached by Colorado. Maybe his lawyer advised him that by his accepting a position with in the Rhinos might in some way effect an offer to coach. Just speculation really.
