Many threads here, particularly those centered on NCAA tournament hopefuls, discuss W-L records vs ranked opponents.

    What is a ranked team?

Is it an opponent who has a national ranking on the day of the game, or an opponent who has a national ranking now at the end of the season?

Is this an important question or a moot point to the NCAA selection committee?

It is a moot point to the selection committee, but the best way for outsiders to somehow gauge competition.

The adidas scoreboard, lists all results,a nd you can click on a teams schedule and see their entire season, and where their opponents are ranked today - no note if they were ranked previously, in the NSCAA Coaches poll.

Another interesting site - but again separate from the selection committee is www.soccerratings.com. Here you will find computer rankings based on results, strength of schedule, etc.
