Dawson, Huddlestone, and for the first time, Marney, have been called up to the England U21 squad to face Holland. Well done lads!

Ex-Spurs keeper Ray Clemence has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I'm sure we all wish him well in his bid for recovery.

    Ray will come through.

Good to see Marney get a run out. Hopefully he'll show them something.

Good thread Jumhed :) We needed a place to put any news in

It is good to see them getting in to the international setup. In partcular Marney who has impressed me since he has started playing for us in January.

I do not give a crap what Pleat says, he is just so bitter that he tried to start the buying of younger players & Arnesen has shown him how its done.

Congrats on bringing in QPR's chief scout Mel Johnson as your new head scout in the UK. He's been a vital part of bringing QPR from relegation to promotion to a good first season back in the Championship, with signings such as Dan Shittu, Lee Cook, Martin Rowlands, etc., and getting good, productive loans like Jerome Thomas, Stephen Kelly, Lee Camp, and Cook (a season before we signed him).

(He also brought Dean Marney in on loan last season, but Marney was injured for most of his short time at Rangers -- I saw him play as a substitute against Brighton).

Johnson did an excellent job for Rangers and I'm sure he'll do the same for your club.

“And Tottenham are pretty full of centre-backs already. In Anthony Gardner and Ledley King, they have two fine central defenders."

This quote says it all about Pleat. :D

And Pleat recieved a £475,000 payout after he left Spurs/got fired, on top of his £550,000 salary! That sucks so hard, it hurts!

Pretty good news considering Dawson and Reid are cup tied against West Brom. Hopefully Ziegler will be fit enough to play on the left.

Mendes, Ziegler & finally Sean Davis should be fit for the weekend. From that link i think Mido will probably start on the bench against West Brom, i also think Davis will be on the bench then if we get through give him a start against Forest.

It is great to see them all get fit, and all at the same time as well. Ledley's problem is worrying, he may have to be rested for the West Brom game, but at least the central midfield is looking so much stronger.

Commentary of the England U21's about Tom Huddlestone...

Chris Waddle: "I think he sleeps in a greenhouse doesn't he?"
Commentator: "I don't think they make greenhouses big enough"
Chris Waddle: "What is he? 18? He's massive!"

Marney has come on for Routledge (who sounded absolutely rubbish) and with his first touch got booked ;)

Huddlestone has moved from his holding midfield role to centre back and they're saying he's doing very well.

Haha, and Marney's just nutmugged someone and won a free kick.

would be strange for them to extend Ricketts contract for footballing reason. however financially maybe they think they can loan him out and sell him for a decent fee, or use him in a part exchange at some point. That's better than just letting him go in the summer for free.
