Who's worth more at this point - Whitbread or Gooch? I'd say Whitbread, if only because he's played in the last year.
Mentioned in a recent write-up: American defender, Zak Whitbread, and Scottish midfielder, Simon Lappin, both find themselves without clubs after being released by Shrewsbury Town and St Johnstone, respectively. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/09/1...w-norwichs-201011-promotion-winning-side-fea/
So...whatever happened to our good friend Mr. Whitbread? Is he now officially retired? Him and Gooch should start a two-man band for former center-backs (with Lalas on guitar).
If there is one thing Lalas should never do again it is be in a band. My ears bleed at the thought of "kicking balls" or whatever the heck that was he played in 94... Now Gooch and Whitbred - that sounds like a classic jazz set in a London wine-cave.
Zak apparently getting rid of furniture in London area - perhaps he's moving somewhere soon? Zak Whitbread @ZakWhitbread Feb 7 If anyone is interested in some furniture in the Beckenham area, 2 leather sofas, bed, mattress, coffee table, tv unit, side tables.
Re-upping this thread in light of the recent Liverpool-Shrewsbury result because Zak got a mention in a story with the headline: Players who have represented both Shrewsbury Town and Liverpool https://www.shropshirelive.com/spor...presented-both-shrewsbury-town-and-liverpool/ Liverpool is ... kind of close to Shrewsbury, certainly by American standards. Bit more than an hour by car. How, exactly, do you get from Liverpool to Shrewsbury, you ask? Practice, kid.
