Saw Ralph Stanley last night. It is unfathomable to me that he can go so hard at around 80 years old. Totally inspiring and he made all the other people on the Down From the Mountain tour look sad (except for Del McCoury & Ricky Skaggs)

I would imagine an 80 year old man singing songs about death would scare small children.

An amazing guy. His voice scares me. If he's eighty years old, his voice belonged to five or six other people before him. Would love to see him.

I would imagine if he's not 80, that he's flirting with it. He was talking about songs he recorded in the 1940s. Even if he recorded in 1949, you are talking 53 years ago. He most likely wasn't cutting records in his teens either...so I would think he's got to be 80.

Hearing him sing "O Death" still gives me chills. The man is a legend.
