God, I'm still emotionally worn out from yesterday... I can't remember the last time we had as good an offensive game (though it would have been nice not to have needed 3 goals to win)... I didn't think Evans did too badly at RB, but it does seem like we don't have much depth back there... Good on the boys for bearing down and getting in the playoffs...
qft!! thank you to everyone involved with this organization! this season is truly a dream and you all have done us fans proud!! year one playoffs baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is wrong with MLSNet stream? Can't remembering having a problem with it but haven't used it too many times.
I have used it all season for every single MLS game it carried...no problems. Always more stable than other streams.
I was travelling back from a family funeral and having to catch the game in bits on the innernets. If I had touched down in Spokane sooner, I would have had simply to go to Wadell's Pub. Leavenworth? That's not EWash. Wouldn't expect to find any footy on there, except maybe Bayern Munich, to keep up the whole fake Bavaria thing. Well done, boys! Take 'em all!
Oh and E. WA sucks!! Was getting my beer on in Leavenworth and no Sounders game anywhere.[/QUOTE] Leavenworth in EASTERN Washington? Not a chance, geographically nor in attitude. Here in Spokane, we even had the game on live in glorious over the air HD on KSKN, the CW affiliate! Usually I have to watch the delay on FSN because I didn't get the package this year. Awesome game, but here are the players I was frustrated with: Gonzalez - gave up on numerous plays. Evans - looked out of position, which he was technically. Montero - dangerous but missed easy chances and should have passed off for scores. Jaqua - even though he scored, frustrating to watch him play. Here were my standouts: Freddie - workhorse and is at another level than everyone else. Osvaldo - Hustled and made great stops linking to Freddie. Zak - so quick and dangerous, I would have liked to see him stay in the game. Hurtado - solid as usual. Can't wait to see next week's game and see where we end up in the playoffs!
You left off Shitty ref. He was absolutely letting the KC players cream our guys. Anyways moving on from MLS' biggest woe.....so glad to beat a bleach blonde hair dyed guy wearing a light pink goalie top...i don't think I could live it down if we hadn't. ps. who remembers abusing Hartman at the USOC at starfire earlier in the year, it was really classic
Looks like Ljungberg to Player of the Week for his performance in the KC game: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/soundersfcblog/2010096018_freddie_ljungberg_mls_player_o.html Also, Jaqua's goal is up for Score of the Week, so vote early, vote often: http://web.mlsnet.com/sights/goal_of_the_week/ Not that Jaqua's goal was overly spectacular, or anything. But he is a Sounder, which is spectacular.
Jacqua's goal for GoW is really weak. How do you not tap in a sitter in the six? Spectacular game. The analysis up to now has been spot on. I was pretty happy with the effort though I would like to see the team not go into the mental lapses. It's too late in the season to be doing that. We absolutely cannot afford to be taking mental vacations come playoffs.
Yes, ask Zak. However, like Zakuani's earlier gotw, which was really won on the basis of Evan's assist of the week, this goal is only spectacular because of how Freddie wtfpwnd the Dorothy's defense to set up that cross.
*laugh* I meant more Zakuani's chip over the goal from the six earlier in the year, but I suspect you knew that.
Sorry, I guess I had two distinct thoughts in one sentence. Yes, I also meant the 6 yd mortar shot AND his GOTW... And to complete the thought: sometimes the assist is more spectacular than the goal itself and because there's no AOTW, it sometimes surfaces in GOTW.
another yard back from the goal and jaqua would have done the same thing that zak did! Not good technique.
Hmm. MLS discipline committee gave $500 fines to Gonzalez and Marshall. Anyone know what they did? Would have had to be something very blatant and violent to get the discipline committee to step in and drop that big a fine.
I wonder if MLS discipline commitee is just as fast as US Soccer for USOC and finally got around to dishing out a fine for Marshall "breaking the surface." Hmm...
They are usually pretty quick from what I've seen. I think they have their meetings on Monday and review that week's games...
