Before anyone reminds me, I know this is a Galaxy message board. Well as football/soccer supporters from around the world, I think we can all be touched by this regardless of the club.

I was watching the match on GolTV and hoping that he would be alright. It saddens me to wake up and read this article.

Man, I was watching that game. He collapsed on the field and one of his teammates was digging in his mouth trying to reach his swallowed tongue. It was scary looking.

Oh man, I just thought it was a seizure or something minor, but a frappin heart attack? A 22 YO fit athlete? I see people desecrate themselves with booze and smoke and live to see eighty...something’s just aren’t right sometimes.

    RIP, brother....

EDIT: Irony rears its ugly head, just found this story on DRUDGE, 2 seconds after I posted.

    So sad to hear.

Apparently, he has had a history of collapsing, but this was the first time it was serious.

As sad as it sounds, it seems like this was bound to happen for him sooner or later.

the scenes of them pulling out his tongue were horrifying. it's almost like his teammate knew exactly what to do though. I don't think I would know to instantly do that.

I wonder if La Liga will suspend play this weekend.

    R.I.P.
His wife/girlfriend is expecting his first child as well. Terrible.

Also R.I.P and condolences to Q.P.R youngster Ray Jones who was killed in a car accident in London over the weekend. He was 18 and was tipped as a future England star.

Also to Walsall youngster Anton Reid who collapsed and died at training last week aged 16.

Its been a bad week for football.
