An in form Everton versus an in form Arsenal. This could be a real cracker. The rest will do our players good. On the other hand, Everton have a few tough games before us. Not such a bad thing for us. Just get it done AFC. We are behind you!

P.S. This clip always brings a smile to my face. Enjoy!

They've got the Merseyside Derby and an FA Cup tie on the weekend. We've got momentum and time to rest up. Also its Mikel's first time back at Goodison.

Going to be a tough fixture but we can't stop, won't stop!

    GO ON YOU GUNNERS!

It is a winnable game. We have matched well with Everton lately.

Everton have been really tough at home lately. Well organized defense and opportunistic on the counter. As others have mentioned, the big advantage is the rest. Arsenal have nothing until this game whereas Everton have the big derby today and then the FA Cup on the weekend. Here is hoping for extra time this weekend, lots of tired legs, and player suspensions.

Everton will be tired. We will not be tired. I expect us to play them off the park.

That's a bit of a stretch. I would take a 2-1 or any win for that matter. It's going to be another tight game.

They looked flat today against Liverpool. Not much firepower in their attack without Drenthe and Donovan.

A few people have posted videos from the 2002-2005 range when Arsenal were thrashing people, and I'm astonished by the lack of quality from the opposition. I think that the level of play at the bottom has risen exponentially. In those clips it was like playing against statues.

Thrilled that we are getting some rest before this big match.
Some how this fixture seriously concerns me.

My Prediction: 2-1 to The Arsenal

A little tasty morsel as we go back in time:

Agreed. They dismantled Chelsea and Tottenham in the last few weeks, it seems as if we're next. I'm hoping they go balls out for this FA Cup game and lose, so their starters are fatigued and morale is quashed.

We're riding high and are have some reasonable depth for once; I think we can get a result.

Wow, not another game until Wednesday. That is fantastic for us... we're finally getting guys some rest and have a bench we can rotate.

Totally agree. Parity has gone way up in the league. Everton looked defensively terrible in those highlights, no organization at all. It's a completely different ballgame these days

I'm fine with them winning. It's not uncommon to win a big game and lose the rest. Just so long as they run themselves ragged.

I know the rest is good for the squad but the wait kills me. Let's just do this to the other Merseyside club:

I agree, this is the closest thing we'll get to a bye-week or holiday break all season! I'm hopeful we'll come out of the blocks fast and get the first goal for a change this season.

It's a bit weird, isn't it? I don't think I watched a single game this weekend. You get spoiled playing two games a week for so long, even if the rest is much needed.

At least this break hasn't involved shipping our players all around the world to get injured in meaningless games.

    We needed this break.

I was worried that Alex Song's legs might disintegrate into a fine powder if he were forced to play any more games without some rest.

Everton won't go down without a fight, but I can't see them keeping up with us if we play well.

You were reading my mind. I felt quite out of sorts not
really watching footie and sad that Arsenal was missing
    from my weekend.
