Listening to the intro to the Barca/Chelsea game, and the commentator said "Will it be the brilliance of Barca, or the power and character of Chelsea". It came to me then that we just don't have a style, or an image for the team right now.

We aren't a team who are capable of playing the kind of football Barcelona do. We can't advance because we are far superior to the others in a footballing sense, but then as an opposite, we aren't a team with a lot of power, industrious if you like, not at that level. Those kinds of teams can make it difficult, and they can go tow to toe with a Liverpool or a Chelsea in terms of battling it out.

We are stuck in limbo, players who want to play, but simply not good enough as a unit. We have the character, when we want it, but the rest of the package just isn't up to scratch. We need an image, a way of playing, something we can aim for and excel at.

Excellent post razington. I mentioned this some time ago. We have a squad which is built to play 4-3-3 and we are playing 4-4-2. We don't know if we are a counter attacking team or a possession team. We're in the middle with nothing. Hope this changes and soon.

But Ramos would argue that being in the "middle" has given Real Madrid a record winning streak.

Im not sure we can play much better with the current players we have...

Until we get different "type" of players...this seems to be the best system for us at the moment.
