Ya our coach got it ass backwards. He should have started Bruno and maybe bring Moutinho at the end if needed .

Will be interesting to see what changes we make for Saturday against a much better team.

Yikes. That was tough to watch. Azerbaijan had to gift wrap the win for us.

We need to pass the torch. Can someone else take free kicks?

Bruno has put a lot of miles on those legs. Santos did the right thing by keeping him on the bench. I wish Ole did it more often though. There's a risk Bruno may burnout.

It's probably not worth reading too much into this game. This was, if anything, a distracted performance. A lot of the players have their clubs to think about as the season comes to a finish. No one wants to get hurt or catch Covid at crunch time for their clubs (or miss out on the Euros).

Serbia will bring out more out of this group. There will be more motivation to not only win that game, but win the group.

I’ve always said this. You can’t have two poachers with limited playmaking ability as two of your front men.

I'm just happy with the three points now.

That said, there is a huge difference between Ukraine, Slovenia and Azerbaijan. Ukraine is #16 in the latest Elo Rating (and just won its last qualifying group over Portugal), Slovenia is #45......and way down at #107 is Azerbaijan.

And it took a preposterous own goal and a couple hairline defensive plays late in the match to get three points.

There's just no excuse for this collection of talent to create so few clear-cut chances and fail to score a goal from 29 shots just because the minnow it played was obstinate in defense.

Anyway, happy with the three points and ready to move on. I'm sure Santos and the squad aren't happy with the performance and will come out better in a couple days.

Comparing us to Croatia is insulting anyways, they are an over the hill team their golden gen is over. Like you said, Ukraine is a good team its not shameful to tie them

Do you know who you guys could use??? My main man Rafael Leão. He is playing so well for Milan and I would bump him up from the U-21. He has skill, takes guys on and works hard.

^^ I get the feeling they will under perform for Portugal but do well at the club level.

Slow start but they'll get better each game. They always do.

What happened to Andre Silva. I know he struggled at Milan but showed promise in La Liga. Do you ever see him being important for the national team?

He's second in Bundasliga scoring behind Lewandowki.

He doesn't fit into our team, we dont use him well under Santos' style.

    He's a good target man.

I feel the days of the target man striker are gone. In todays game strikers need to be able to do much more to be apart of "top teams". Similar to how fullbacks need to be able to do more than just defend compared the older gen. What do you think Mr 51
