QPR -- 19th, 41 GP, -14 GD, 46 points v. Luton Town -- 24th, 41 GP, -22 GD, 37 points ------ 9 April 2007 15:00 Loftus Road ------ [R] in this thread for all Championship games Rangers News: Two wins in a row have pulled the R's up to 19th in the table and 5 points (plus superior GD) ahead of the relegation zone. A win today would go a long way to making sure we're in the Championship next season. There's no word yet on the official site regarding today's lineups. Cook, Mancienne, and Idiakez could return after missing on Saturday due to injuries. Blackstock got a slight ankle injury on Saturday after we'd already used all three subs, but he's likely to feature today. The Opponent: Former Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell has just taken over at Luton after signing a four-year (!) deal. Luton had lost six straight before he took over. They drew 0-0 at Burnely in his first game in charge, but an 0-2 defeat at home against Southampton on Saturday leaves them five points behind Leeds and safety. The Hatters have gone eight straight without a win (0-1-7), dating to a 3-2 home win over Sheffield Wednesday on February 20th. The Series: This is the fourth meeting this season between the sides. QPR won the other Championship meeting this season, 3-2, at Kenilworth Road. In the FA Cup, the sides drew 2-2 at Loftus Road before Luton won at home in the replay, 1-0. Overall, the R's lead the series, 36-28-31, while they lead in league play, 32-24-29. Elsewhere in the bottom third of the table: 17 Burnley 40 0 48 - home v. Cardiff 18 Leicester 40 -9 47 - away v. Here's our team... Camp Kanyuka Cullip Stewart Bignot Bolder Ainsworth Lomas Moore Blackstock Nygaard
BTW, our bench is... Furlong Smith Ricketts Timoska Cole (GK) Richard Langley is on the bench for Luton
Stefan Moore with back-to-back starts. You probably could have got 100-to-1 odds on that happening this season down at the Ladbrokes. He earned it with a very good second half on Saturday.
Burnley has scored against Cardiff. Luton with their second corner kick already... that one earned a third. Third one was headed back to the corner taker. Stewart clears.
Wow, early start...I'm used to coming back from lunch and following your pbp. On a side note. My wife got me MLS Direct Kick for my birthday this year so I'm thinking she might ALSO let me get QPR world next August as a bonus.
It's the Easter Monday bank holiday today, so everyone is playing during the day. Congrats on the Direct Kick. That's a very cool birthday gift. Hope you can get World next season!
Camp is down after a collision with the striker outside the box. Cole is warming up. The physio is working on one of his legs.
Fourth corner for Luton. Camp with a two-handed punch. Luton got the ball back and the R's get bailed out by an offside call.
DeMarcus Beasley is playing and scored a goal for City! Wouldn't have gotten longer odds on that than Moore playing 2 in a row
GOAL! Blackstock! It may be an undeserved lead, but we'll take it! Lomas sent the ball in, Nygaard got a touch, it bounced around and came to Blackstock who sent it home!
