That is the least talented Dutch central midfield I have seen in ages. 2 donkies and Frenkie. LVG needs some credit if he gets past quarters with this team. Although he did pick the roster, so maybe not.

Klaassen loses the ball too much, and yes, when Ake pushes up then Blind becomes liability. Individually these players do not have skill like Italian players, but collectively they play with Italian mind sets, defending well, we are not going to beat ourselves, you may beat yourself but in order to beat us, you need to play at your best (mistake free, clinical, top corner or goal post shot). You can have possessions all you want if you cannot do much about it. It is hard to see how this team will fare vs those contenders team, but we will worry about it when we get there. There is still 45-50 more minutes to play.
