Let’s start talking about Qatar 2022 because that’s what my focus is.

I looked at our potential squad, compared it to other European sides and conclude that euro 2020 should be straight forward win for us especially as players like fernandes, Felix, jota, neves, Sergio oliveira, Sanches , etc are all doing well .

Let’s start predicting who will lineup for portugal in 2022. I think the cup will be between us and Brazil to be honest .

Yeah? With what defending? Cuz honestly, while i dont think our back 4 is the worst in the world.. i also dont think its a strong enough back line to suggest Euro 2020 is already ours and that it will be between us and Brasil in 2022.

Ruben Dias is quite good, I dont need to talk about our talent down the flanks (LB/RB we are stacked). Ferro has potential.

Also, there is David Carmo from SC Braga who I rate fairly highly.

Yeah, Dias is good, even so, he isnt going to be the defensive backbone who wins nations World Cups at this moment in time. Maybe a couple years down the road, but, that time isnt here yet.. and it certainly isnt for guys like Ferro or Carmo. We lack solid CB options, and it could be our downfall.

For the Seleccao, for Portugal, if you guys had to put together a starting 11 for Qatar 2022, then who would be in your starting 11 right now...this is merely for fun but I obviously wanna pick your guys' brains on this

you are forgetting Ruben Semedo, he has potential to be quite good and is rebuilding his career after the legal trouble he ran into.

Obviously if CR7 does play then this will no doubt be his last World Cup, the man will be 37 years old

Yes it likely will be his last tournament, but his leadership and finishing ability are likely going to be important for the team.

Hmm good but I’m leaning towards more of a 4-2-3-1 to provide more defensive solidarity.

I’ve seen your posts, you seem to be fairly knowledgable. Are you a coach/scout like
    I Am?

students of the game are always welcome here. There are a lot of ignorant ppl here on the Portugal board , but we have a few intelligent posters such as myself. I used to read this board one of the most intelligent posters was named Z, and got banned.

what teams/players do you support ?

Inter Milan they are my favorite team but also Dortmund if we are talking German Bundesliga, TFC in MLS but as far as international teams Ghana because I am Ghanaian. But I have always had respect for Portugal, going back to the days of Figo, Rui Costa, etc

But my favorite players right now top 10:

    10- Virgil Van Dijk
    9- Harry Kane
    8- Thomas Partey
    7- Antoine Griezmann
    6- Kevin De Bruyne
    5- Ivan Rakitic
    4- Erling Haaland
    3- Mo Salah
    2- Lionel Messi
    1- CR7

Well based on putting CR7 #1, you are always welcome here.

Ghana is a great source of talented young footballers. I am a semi professional scout and my dream is to be come a pro scout and then eventually a pro football manager. I have thought about planning a scouting trip to West African nations such as Ghana or Angola once the pandemic dies down.

I appreciate that a lot Joe no I do and I have always loved Cristiano ever since I was a teenager when he first burst on to the scene with Sporting and then when he went to Manchester United. Even loved him at Real Madrid and love him even more at Juventus. I was just watching something the other day where one of his former teammates Evra was talking about one time he went to Cristiano Ronaldo's house and it turned out to be a training session even after they left practice. However, I even remember when our countries faced off against one another in Brazil 2014 in the group stage. Angola definitely has a lot of footballers especially with the Portuguese influence there but Ghana yes we do have young talent.
