I started off my New York Times crossword puzzle this morning, and lookie what 3-Down's clue is: 3 R. F. K. Stadium Team It's eight letters, so NATIONALS doesn't fit. -G. Rex PS - Gee, even on a Sunday, you probably couldn't get a grid big enough for NEWYORKNEWJERSEYMETROSTARS. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
See, this is why cryptics are better, you'd have the secondary confirmation on MESSED CUE DIDN'T MEAN RFK STADIUM TEAM (8). And you know it would be United. Or you'd have SPANISH GENTLEMEN HAVE AT RFK STADIUM TEAM (8) and you'd know it was another team... Makes life so much easier.
More publicity in the NYT, but not the crossword. From an article on some school in Seattle in today's paper. It's pretty obvious, but just in case, check out the shirt of the kid dead center:
People bash DC United marketing and MLS marketing in general. Here it is obvious that DC United marketing has a product placing person who know what she/he is doing.
Gunnersaurus sent me a copy of the puzzle and I believe if 1 across is StDenis then DCUnited does fit for 3 down. See for yourself. K
That kid looks like he is up to something..... ~worm~ Looking for that smoke bomb by chance there little Johnny?? "Nah...Nah....Nah!" Be good Johnny!
I did the puzzle this morning on my way home through the Frankfurt Airport. Combination business trip/recon for next month. DCU is the answer.
