It's actually family related. I wasn't planning on any travel this year. Going to have to go on a shoe-string, but it should still be fun.

They do indeed. They do indeed. ;)

If RyanAir is equal to a shoe string then it seems that I might never get to Austria...

Do we have a confirmed date and location for other games? Wien seems pretty well sown up, as is Hannover on the 29th. Is there another?

Also, does anyone have a recommendation of a place to stay in Hannover?

I recommend staying at a hotel in Hannover. Their park benches can be a little stiff.

The most obvious time period would be between the 24th and 26th July which covers the week-end, and Szombathely had been mentioned earlier for a return trip. I have checked their website which is only in Hungarian, and I could not find any mention of a potential game with Arsenal. They finished third in the Hungarian League last season, which puts them into the new Europa League, and from other teams shown, it appears that they are in the first qualifying round, with teams from Wales, Northern Ireland, etc. and I think those matches begin in July ! Unless they would use us as a "money spinner", they may not have the time. I don't know why, as in 2007 games are not being played in B.W. There's no travelling involved at all then !
As to other likely opponents, the choice from other teams in Austria is obvious, but also Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia are all still close, but other than Zagreb, I don't know the quality and callibre of teams from the other nearby countries. I guess it's still a "just wait and see" situation.

Didn't you read this bit then? ;)

Also this is from the Hungarian Gooners:

My name is Zoltán Bényei, and I am secretary of Arsenal Hungary.

Yes the rumour is true, it is "almost sure" that Arsenal'll play against Haladás in Szombathely (maybe july 27th). You are not the only one who asked us about it in last days. On the official homepage of Haladás we can read as "according to plans Haladás will play with Arsenal", so officially it is not 100%. I promise everybody who has enquired from us that if we get informations about the match fixed, I'll write! Maybe I'm going to write an email to Haladás and ask them.

According to hungarian newspapers Haladás will have busy days in the end of July (maybe Europian League-qualify match on 23th, than hungarian national league match between 24-26 and after those the match against Arsenal). I read that Haladás asked Hungarian Football Association that they don't want to play in July in the hungarian league, would like to start august because of Arsenal match (and Europian League). I don't read what was the answer from FA Hungary.

Hungarian fans will go to Bad-Waltersdorf too! Maybe meet in the Pub named Blue Room :) And of course to Wienna (July 21th)

    Kind regards,

    Zoli

I particularly liked the "Maybe meet in the pub named Blue Room" :D
