Managers comments were very discouraging. We will try to field a team that can beat Sunderland. WTF? It is Sunderland!
Nitpicking a bit there. He was asked what sort of team he will pick for this game, he replied that it will be a team that we think will beat Sunderland. Standard response not wanting to give too much away as to his team selection.
So you couldn't say whatever team we pick, we want to play good football, Manchester United football and that we're after all 3 points? Or words to that effect? The whole doubt as if Sunderland are Chelsea or Arsenal.
That comment is in relation to whether he will be rotating the team again after last week's result. He said something like all players are really good players and have high standards of themselves and we'd pick a team that we think is strong enough to beat Sunderland. Not in relation to whether we'll pick a aggressive or defensive team which is what you are reading it as.
De Gea Rafael Smalling Vidic Evra Cleverley/Fellaini Carrick Nani Januzaj Welbeck Van Persie/Rooney This is what i want to see, especially if Rooney is not fully fit. Back 4 did well in Shakthar and Sunderland play with Altidore as a bruiser forward, so no need to rotate that. Welbeck deserves a run on the left now and will add defensively with Nani and Janzuaj alongside on that flank. And all 3 can alternate.
This team should be strong enough to beat Sunderland. It's gonna be close though, we gotta be careful. --------------------Welbeck--------RVP Young---------------------------------------------Valencia ------------------Fellaini-----------Carrick Buttner--------------------------------------------Jones ------------------Vidic--------------Smalling ----------------------------De Gea
Is Shinji injured? If not, surely he starts with Wayne injured. -----------------RVP----------------- Welbeck-----Kawaga--------Nani ------Fellaini--------Carrick-------- Evra--------Vida-------Evans---Rafa
Look, if we lose to Sunderland we've got a full blown crisis on our hands. It doesn't matter who we field, there is no excuse for dropping points to them tomorrow.
This seems to be the go to lineup. Moyes is going to try and counter that "work friendly" midfield of Sunderaland's with surprise, surprise... more work! Never mind intelligent players... They can have a seat. The season of *sighs* rolls on.
In the event that I miss the game I would like to record the following based on the team selection and our performance. 1. Moyes out. 2. Rooney did nothing in open play.
I used to love when the match threads had TV information, injury status, etc., but I guess the flashing VS will do.
Start Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tevez up front. Play Carrick, Fletcher and J.S. Park through the middle. Brown, Rio, Vidic, Evra as the back 4. VDS in goal.

Relegation six-pointer. We can't afford to be too flash lads. We need plenty of graft. Let's see if they like it up 'em. We need to play the Brits, not these namby-pamby, lightweight continentals. Except Fellaini. He's big and not afraid to get stuck in.
Rooney is awaiting a late test on an injured shin. The striker did not play in the 1-1 Champions League draw at Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday after which Moyes stated he was hopeful of him recovering and being available for Saturday's thetrip to Sunderland. The manager said: "I'm not more sure or less sure [than then]. I've just not seen him yet this [Friday] morning since he came in. I think he's responding well to treatment, he's had a lot of treatment on his shin and I'm hopeful he'll be OK." Asked if Van Persie was fit, after he was seen limping after the draw with Donetsk, the manager said: "I think so, he's got a bit of a sore toe so I've not seen him either; [it won't be] until this afternoon." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/04/david-moyes-manchester-united-rooney-sunderland
Moyes hasn't seen enough of Van Persie yet to play him. He may not be good enough. Why hasn't a press officer told Moyes to stop saying he "hasn't seen" shit? Jesus.
Come now. You know as well as I do how busy our press officers are. We just released a line of Man United masking tape and have sealed a deal with a major company to be our Official Malaysian Bag of Soaked Dicks Sponsor. On top of the press releases for those, they're also in charge of overseeing the airbrushing of Shinji Kagawa out of any promotional materials. Plus those generic tweets, facebooks statuses, photos of the lads in training bibs and "name your favourite United cafeteria lady" polls don't put themselves on the web.
