In an effort to keep my mind off of all the bad news that has come out of this year, I think it might be fun to do some wild speculation that does not involve contracts, players' personal lives, attendance or front office decisions. What team do you think will hand the Revs their final loss of the season in regulation time (postseason included)? My guess: Red Bull.
Yeah...seems like a weird thread, but made me think about doing an NFL-style survivor pool for MLS. Fortunately I have friends who will bet on anything.
So if I understand this, Mike is predicting either that 1) the Crimson Cows will beat us some time late in the season for our last loss (I don't know the scehdule off-hand) and then we will run the table in the playoffs and come home from DC with our very own piece of silverware. Or that The Filth will somehow beat us in the playoffs. Burn him! He's a heretic! (I think...)
Kill them for me. Those are the people that keep 75% of the college bowl games alive. FTLOG, nobody cares about the SEC #7 vs the PAC-10 #5 on Dec 17th from a competitive standpoint.
Actually, I think we'll lose in the first leg of a playoff series with RB, then beat them in the second leg, then lose the ECF in penalties (pk's go on record as 0-0). I'm surprised you guys aren't into this...it's a fun little puzzle. you have to figure out when the revs will play their last game, who they'll face in the playoffs (assuming they do), how far they'll go, and all kinds of other factors. I do this with some friends with UMiami baseball every year.
We're raising a trophy at RFK in November.... And not a **********ing piece of glass either.... We're talking SILVERWARE baby!!!!
