Before you begin let's take a look at the makeup of the 2002 team, and their status in 2000 (which is basically where we're at now).

    WJ Lee - NT backup
    BJ Kim - NT starter
    ES Choi - K-League

    MB Hong - NT starter
    TY Kim - NT starter
    JC Choi - K-League
    MS Lee - NT starter
    YM Hyun - Olympic

    CG Song - Olympic
    NI Kim - Olympic
    YP Lee - Olympic
    EY Lee - K-League
    SC Yoo - NT starter
    CS Lee - Olympic/U19
    JS Park - Olympic/U19
    JH Yoon - J-League
    SY Choi - NT starter
    TU Choi - Olympic/U19

    DR Cha - amateur
    YS Choi - NT starter/backup
    JH Ahn - Italy
    SH Hwang - J-League
    KH Seol - Olympic

It looks like our 2004 Athens team will be a major source of players for our 2006 campaign. A lot of our current NTers that we know and love may not even be around by then. Guys like Ahn Jung-hwan or Kim Nam-il are hardly a lock with players like Kim Dong-jin or Choi Sung-guk beating down at the doors. That being said, the 2004 team is a little different from 2000 because we have more major players overseas now whose level of talent is simply unmatched in our player pool. Who do you think will be there by 2006?

from what i remember, kim nam il and hyun young min werent in the squad for sydney olympic..

i believe kim nam il played a few qualification matches but he was never in the final squad..

here are the list of 2000 sydney olympians who played in WC2002..

    hong myung bo (wild card)
    lee young pyo
    park ji sung
    lee chun soo
    song chong guk

    thats about it..

as for 2004 olympians, i think choi sung kook will make it if he just keeps on doin his thing..

cho byung guk, kim young kwang, choi tae uk, and few others are the possiblities..
