http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/story/10434p-9849c.html Interesting article. Some Metro IR info at the bottom of the page.
Encouraging Metro news. I have to wonder where Power would expect to play in NY City? Surely not Randall's Island. Is there any place in Brooklyn or Queens that would be suitable -- ie. not big enough for Metro, but about right for them (approx. 8-10k seating)? Westchester seems like just one more mistake. frankly, Long Island still seems the perfect place for this team, east of Portland, OR. Do they really expect to draw bigger crowds in NYC? they don't have the persona. Liberty comes across street-wise and funky. Power is about as funky as Wonder Bread. The Swamp? Can they afford the rent? Do we care?
You see, Karma works....talk trash about Metro and you get yo asses kicked!!! but wait, there should be no problem with them getting a venue, according to the Bra-Wonder, WUSA is the world's greatest soccer....
They should stick it out wherever for two years and join the lobbying effort for the stadium in Harrison. Nobody can vote against spunky 14-year-old soccer girls!
Actually, if we could get pictures of a few senators and representatives with those spunky 14-year old soccer girls, we just might be able to leverage the votes we need. Better than farm animals, if you get my drift.
Well, here's two-thirds of the Republican contingent on the Economic Growth, Agriculture and Tourism Committee: Can we find 14-year-olds who would bother, even if we paid them handsomely?
