Im asking u guys since the team has used so many different youth players.

I heard alot of good news about an awsome midfield, and 1 good forward. I hear nothing of good defenders other then the veterans.

    i would have to say

    joaquin botero (bolivar)

    and

    jose alfredo castillo (oriente/ tecos)

up front...botero actually was leading for most goals in the bolivian league until the last game where JAC scored four goals to win by one..

i also think gatti ribeiro and percy colque are locks for wing players..and hopefully vaca is in the mix..

they have a match against venezuela in august, but i doubt vaca or castillo will get called in..i think it is too soon to tell. the line up against mexico was pretty poor during their friendly in SF:

Actually for only having three days to put the team together, I thought they played quite well against Mexico. I dont remember the young mans name, but we had a defender who was all over their forwards. I hope Vaca gets some time with the National team. He's a player with a lot of potential who needs to be exposed to the International game.

Please guys...botero can only score for bolivar...give hi the green jersey the guy is inept. I'm sorry, but any league that has botero as its leading scorer has got to suck...I know, I love strongest, but jesus, i'm preparing myself for a long drought of talented plaeyrs for the nat team.
Castillo is good and hopfully he'll keep his head straight...our biggest problem is that the federation leaders steal from the league and the entity thus screwing up the nats team.

Reports are that Che Guevarra will be rising from the dead to start at GK.

I agree with you Etcheverrito, corruption in the Federation is nothing new for us. Until the day comes that we get some honest people with love of their country in there, we're going to continue to suck. One major step in the right direction was hiring Carlos Trucco as the coach. I've been fed up with the coaching job going to Argentines, Spaniards, etc... We have some good young talent, we need someone who's been there to guide them. I pray one day your namesake, Marco will guide our boys to the World Cup.

Add Luis Gatty Ribeiro to the mix. He impressed me during the Copa America.

Allthough I think we'll miss Trucco I would still rather have a former National team player as a coach then some foreigner that doesn't know our boys. I wish the Idiots at the federation would get their shi.. together. It's so damn aggravating

I'm not to crazy about Soria. The dude had mad skills but his style of play would be good only for south america or latin america.

We need a coach that will counter attack or give suprises. The typical Bolivian or south american coach likes to spend alot of time up front, basically flooding the opponents defensive zone. I hate that type of soccer becuase the opponents defense is already set up and know what to expect. We need a coach that will use the entire field, get defenders out of their position and move forward for the kill as the defense is stretched out.

We need to counter more instead of resorting to dominateing the goal area. Look at Argentina; they flooded the entire offensive zone and couldnt get squat from England. I saw no suprises in their attack.

The person I want to see as our future coach would have to be Platini. THe dude has been the heart and soul of the best team in Portugal. Diablo would make a good choice as well. I dont think anyone has won more championships in as many different countries than sir Diablo.

    Jaime Moreno?

Does he even get considered fot the Nat'l team anymore? If not is it because there are better options, he is too injury prone, he doesn't get on with FA or what? When he is healthy I think he is still a very good player, so I'm just curious.

I think that if we are to be serious for 2006, we have to get serious NOW. First off the Federation needs to stop f'ing around and get their books in order. The Copa America is going to be a great place to showcase our youth. I think we just need a home grown coach (ok NOT Soria) with an eye for talent and patience to let the young guys grow and learn. Get Castillo and Vaca involved and playing with the National side. And settle on a coach. Platini would be excellent. Maybe Marco in two years. Just DO something positive. This last WC qualifying was pathetic. We have some great young talent, let's see what they can do.

in order to have a remote chance at qualifying, we need to win ALL the games at home. sure, maybe teams are figuring out how to combat the altitude or the psychological factor...it still can play into our hands..

we had some ties that were terrible, and the argentina game was heartbreaking..that is why the prospects of a JAC with a nose for those poacher, rebound goals is such promising...

...how many of those ties such as against paraguay would have been three points?

if we win ALL the games in la paz and pull off some mild upsets, such as in peru, chile or even ecuador..we have a shot.

    FROM EL DIARIO SITE, BOLIVAR WILL REPRESENT BOLIVIA;

Well what's done is done. I just hope the Federation gives him their full support. I'm interested to see how well he prepares for Copa America.
