The team just didn't show up. We did have a few injuries and people playing out of position. But that's not an excuse. We let our guard down early and got punished for it. Yeah, Saprissa is a hard place to play, but we were pathetic. I suppose it could be starting people that haven't played much recently, and especially have played much together. But a lot of national teams do that. I hope it was just a fluke and we'll be back on track. I mean, it's not like a win was guaranteed. Some of us expected it, but most of us aren't surprised that we lost. I think we were surprised at how poor we were. Honestly, there were a couple of moments where if we hadn't have made some simple mistakes we would have been right back in the game. So, while we were very poor. You guys didn't put us away until very late, the third goal. I think that's what was most frustrating for me. Especially the few opportunities we had in or near the box in the second half. We could and should have made something of those. But that's soccer, a few moments/seconds, a few simple mistakes can change everything. Ok, I take it back, I guess there is something to talk about.

Well, to read the MLS and USMNT boards, I had to logout and I was amazed at some of the excuses and things that were said. They actually think this is a stunning result. If you go on the first 5-10 pages of this thread, you will even find that many of them have said they were going to win by 3 goal margins and whatnot. It's just humorous...

Game related comments, GJ Costa Rica, was very entertaining game, little disappointing they lowered the pressure in the 2nd half because they coulda had more then 3 for sure.
