Another (un)successful end to an Islanders season.

    Yay.

Well, it's hard to say how good or bad we looked. I read the game as though we were pretty decent in the second half.

Whew. It'll be nice to focus on the post-season now.

Orange Itch, it was a good game and a fair result. Hope to see you around.

so will we play a group winner in the quarters or a runner up? or is it random?

I would agree. After what appeared to be absolutely no offense to end the first half after the goal, it does seem we played a more attacking game in the second, and pretty much controlled the second half.

MOTM is the Concacaf Feed. I never felt so excited about sentences until that Penthouse Forum.

Sounded like a pretty ugly affair, but we got the point we needed.

Hey those were fun matches though. And you guys knocked out TFC. Islanders are definitely my new favorite USL club, no doubt. And don't be a stranger OrangeItch. We can use your support in the playoffs.

    You can't contain Renteria
you don't even stand a chance
If you had a million defenders, well he'd
    He'd beat'em all.

Great way to open your account in a Crew jersey, Emilio.

What's this; the fourth or fifth season? Regular season champs a year ago and CONCACAF Champions League Semifinalist. TFC would like to be in your shoes.

Telefutura just showed brief highlights of our match. The Renteria goal was a thing of beauty (for an MLS team in CCL play). The PRI 'keeper came out to the top of the goal box to challenge Lenhart who was in alone behind the defense. He got a touch on it, but it went straight to Renteria who volleyed it out of the air with a dipping shot with plenty of pace on it.

We wore our away (black) kits with black shorts.

I would like to thank Renteria for grabbing the draw. I don't know if I could read another game, the Cruz Azul-Saprissa game.

So we will get Pumas, Toluca, or most likely Pachuca in the quarter-finals. We will host the 1st leg the week of March 9-11 and the 2nd leg in Mexico the week of March 16-18.

He'll never be half the man he was tonight.

    Sweet dreams, Saprissa . . .

Er. What do Toluca have to do with anything?

According to the feed from the beginning of the match, if we tied we would have to await the outcome of group-leading Toluca vs Saprissa

Yeah, the person writing that feed was wrong about everything there. I'm fairly certain that guy was actually watching the Yankees game.

We get to host a Mexican team in Columbus in March? I thought such things only happened once every four years. ;)

DC United is playing Toluca. Cruz Azul is playing Saprissa.

And, that same CONCACAF guy said with the tie the Crew moves on because we have 8 points, Saprissa has 5. We have the tiebreaker which is head to head over Saprissa. So if Saprissa wins we both have 8 points but we have the tiebreaker.

You thought Toluca was in our group? lol. :p
