"We have finally closed the deal," Cruzeiro president Alvimar de Oliveira Costa said of the €2 million transfer. "We've received guarantee of payment, and are already working to find a player to replace him."

although Adriano would be better, Leandro is also a very good full back, very good signing of Porto again..they have good scouts in Brazil

Benfica could learn a thing or two here. Everytime FCP buys a player, you hear about it when it's a done deal and both sides are on the same page. Benfica, on the other hand: there will be half a dozen different sources saying yes and then no, and nothing ever happens. Remember Adani in pre-season?

So true, but I only see 3 news souces saying this so I'm not sure it's 100% done yet. Sapo is usually pretty reliable though. Nothing on Porto's website so far.

There is not to much info on this guy, is he suppose to be pretty good? At 25 he should be approaching his prime.

I guess they don't think Valente is coming back in the near future.

You will find what you want here:

Probably its a good signing, but i´d like to remember that we have Nuno Valente, Areias, Rubens Junior, Mário Silva (on Loan), Hugo Luz(on loan) and Vitor Rodrigues(on loan) excluding players from the B team...all them left defenders, if we can´t go to the last 16 of CL or even Uefa this is 2 million euros terribly spent.

Yes, that is very unfortunate. Valente's absence has been a huge negative for the club this year.

Valente is so solid defensively. It has been a big blow in defence especially since nobody really settled into the position in his absense.

    Well done Dr. Henrique Jones!

Let me remind you that the doctor said he would recover Nuno for a NT game 2 days after the one he got injured...but if he didn't make it...he would be fine in ONE week! That's why the NT refused to let go Nuno Valente (thing that OBVIOUSLY did not happen recently with Simão and Miguel) and recover with FC Porto's medical staff...

no, it's lack of capacity to do the job.

How can a doctor claim that a player with a severe knee injury (torn ligaments) will be fit in 2 days or, in maximun, in one week?!!!!
