"Pontius first suffered the strain during a U.S. national team camp in January, and determined to play, he pronounced himself ready by the time the Major League Soccer season began in late March. He lasted just the first three and half matches of the year before re-aggravating the problem. It was clear that the symptoms were much deeper -- due to flexibility issues throughout his hamstrings, hips and lower back."

Its also clear his hamstring problem wasn't due to the trainer

But at least he's on his way back - A little bit on Saturday - Some more Wednesday - And ready for full-time against Chivas

Everything is the Trainers fault this year. Everything.

What about Jackovic's clavicle injury? Can I still blame that on the trainer? Insufficient pre-game clavicle stretches, perhaps?

No, but you might able to still blame the coaching staff for not teaching James to refrain from leaping through the air and kicking his teammates.

I blame the trainer for not padding the goalposts. If not for him, Hamid would have been available.

It's just incompetence, I tell you.

NY Times: Trying to Take D.C. United Back to the Top
Through 17 games this season, D.C. United has returned to its winning ways and is tied for first place in the Eastern Conference (it actually leads the Red Bulls on goal differential, but there is a long way to go). One of the big reasons for the club’s improvement is Chris Pontius, one of the league’s best attacking players. Pontius and D.C. United host Montreal on Saturday in Washington.

Good find; but attaching it to an over-two-year-old thread?

Sorry. Didn't realize it was that old; didn't look closely at the date. Just searched on "Pontius" in the headline and saw "May 21". Didn't think it warranted its own thread.

Perhaps we should have a "DCU in the press" catch all thread?

I think that's a very good idea -- a lot of other teams/forums do just that.
