Get on the record. Make your choice and comment.

We're limited to 20 polling responses so I'm showing the first 20 Saturdays of the MLS season. First date is that date and before, last date is that date and after. That last choice 7/19 or later, could be a hot one!
Sorry Wednesday/Thursday choices aren't available because it won't open on a Wednesday/Thursday and Sunday choices are omitted because Sunday games suck.

Note - Opening is defined as first revenue generating game. Doesn't have to be an MLS regular season game.

Sometime in May. They'll be behind schedule a couple of months, and the Quakes will spend the first few weeks on the road. Of course, I hope I'm completely wrong.

I'll play the gloom and doom role. I voted 7/5, only because I have not seen any change, save for cars driving up and down Coleman, in the "live web cam" view since it went up. First kick is what, nine months away? That still looks like one enormous empty lot.

    I hope I'm wrong, too.

My mom told me it all looks like Italy & Germany did after WW2 with all the bombed out buildings and reconstruction. It took a while for them (maybe 10-15 years?) to get moving on the re-building. Thankfully, 65 years on, things should move a little faster but how much faster is the question?

First game in June... How were the dates chosen, just every Saturday of the month?

Depends on the location... Dresden Frauenkirche was completed in 2005 (started in 1992)...

I don't think you would have been staying in any hotel in Dresden if you had been there in 1946.

I bet on April 5th, but I think the stadium will be ready sooner. My guess is that MLS will set the schedule with some slip in it, so they'll put us down for April 5th, but we'll be completely finished and ready to go at least a week or two before that.

New stadia go up in a hurry. And, it's Devcon doing the construction, it's going to fly once they finish with all the prep work. What's taking so long now is marking all the darned wells (which might not be perfectly located on any map), and tearing up the giant foundations and vaults, which were also not supposed to be there.

It's going to rock kids. Chill.

    go quakes!!
    Good Luck Mark Watson!

If they open on March 8th, that means they have only 9 total months to put up and complete the whole thing. With weekends, holidays and weather (although it probably won't rain until at least November even though I saw lightening this morning) , I don't think they will be able to work that fast.

I said May 10. It won't be done for opening day, but it'll be done shortly there after.

Wouldn't it be ironic if there was an Earthquake before it was finished that destroyed it all

Even worse would be if there were an earthquake and a bunch of people died

and then their whiny families pressure the team to change its name. That would be tragic.

Ha! We mostly sucked when we were the Clash. I remember going to games and thinking that our team, and our whole league were crap. The Casbah used to do a countdown to the "it's time to wear a bag over your head" match. And I did wear a bag over my head a couple of times, but it was damn hot.

Still, I liked the scorpion, I liked the jade jerseys and the red of course was sort of a through back to the old NASL team, so it worked for me.

    go Clash!

Only one weird EQ mascot got the honor of being assaulted by PoshBoy. The others are just disturbing.
