    To Whom it May Concern:

This forum is pathetic. The threads with the most traffic (saves for the Yves thread which is classically Quakes related) consist of:

    1) People posting the stupidest crap about their menial lives that is fine on the free for all, but does not belong here OR

    2) People bitching at each other about how much they hate other posters. YOU ARE ALL LOSERS for even donating one of the few brain cells you have to the degredation of someone you will never even know in a real world sense OR

    3) People saying "if you do not like it do not read it." That is all fine, if the offensive thread involves
Yalllops substitution pattern, or how crappy Carlos Ruiz is. But, if it has to do with the color of nail polish you might wear on the first day of the 7th grade then it does not belong here.

Landon groupies will come and go, but we are driving away any real and knowledgable posters with all of the asinine threads that are an insult to anyone with an IQ over 2.

    My name is Richter Boy.

I have made the decision that since the 'invasion' of the groupies, we all have had to sink to a 'lower level' of such in order to keep traffic on this forum alive.

    Or maybe not.

Funny you guys are posting this. I'm typing up a message right now talking about how all the L-Dog threads are getting merged into one. Hang in there. I was gone for a couple days before last night, and hadn't really noticed all the disjointed Landon threads.

The "Random Jibberish" thread stays. Other teams have similar silly threads in their forums.

I have left the SJQF thread up, if only to give Erin the chance to tee off on Leon before we close it. On second thought, that's not a good idea, so it's getting closed, too.

I don't get it. I posted this idea on the Gibberish thread (to put it on the FFA) and Erin tees off on me, and yet you say it and (most) peopel listen.

No, Sean, most people (at least fans of that thread), as well as our other two mods and a couple mods from other teams' forums disagreed with me.

If you think I'm doing this because RB said to, it's just coincidence. Great minds apparently think alike... :D

The following threads are merged into the "Official Landon Thread". Please keep most of the Landon-related non-news in that thread. Thank you.

Threads moved into "Official Landon Thread":

    ***Question*** (about his ring)

ESPN's The Life [LD] (about a long-ago show with Landon on ESPN)

Landon to Return to BL on Nov. 1? (no real news on the subject)

What's Going on with Landon Donovan?

There are also more of these threads dying on old pages, I'm leaving them unless somebody bumps them up.

Also, the Erin thread is getting locked.

Free speech is golden. However, there needs a bar to be set... thank you Tyson.

    Amen!

And give Robert a hand--he might be tough, but at the same time he's fair. A bit of silliness from him is fine, but there comes the time as it is you got to lay down the law...

    Cheers!

So, would you like me to research and write a dissertation on the history of the San Jose soccer scene from the beginning through the Frank Yallop years and post it here? I certainly could do that, as long as I can get myself out to San Jose to do the proper research.

I could expound on the relationship between American professional soccer and youth participation in sports. I could also post my 30-page paper on the purposes of camping in the Girl Scout program, my paper on the development of a labor movement among Michigan Finns during the first two decades of the last century, the first chapter of my dissertation on Finnish migration to the Copper Country in Michigan and Ontario, or my master's thesis on the origins of separatism in Quebec from an English-French political relations perspective. Or I could reprint my article on soccer in the state of New York that will be published in the forthcoming Encyclopedia of New York State. (which is, since the World Cup, already out of date.)

Or, I can just talk about the things I enjoy most, the players I believe are among the best in the world, and enjoy the company of both the more knowledgeable posters and the young fans who are there for one reason and one reason only (or two). I guess it's your choice, being that you seem to believe that most of us who post here have the IQ of a glass of Dr. Pepper. I find the supposed dribble on this forum a refreshing change from reading large, hot-winded volumes of historical material that are supposed to be telling me what I need to know. I enjoy being "big sister" to the young fans on the "official" thread dealing with He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named and also the banter elsewhere. I can also keep up with the "more intelligent posters" on other forums and have decent, meaningful discussions about a variety of ideas. I'm flexible that way, and it really makes my life much more interesting.

If you don't like what's being said in the existing threads, you can do two things: a) ignore them and b) start your own. Whining and moaning about it isn't going to change anything but it will tick a lot of people off. You're very lucky I'm a nice, emotionally-balanced person, else I'd be really mean to you.

My name is Mesabi. Nice to meet you.

This is kind of going to interrupt the convos that were going on on the official thread, but I'm sure we'll muddle through. That thread will just be huge now and take up a lot of server space. is there a limit like there seems to be on the college hockey boards?

There should be plenty of server space now that everything from the past 3 years or so was deleted recently. There's no limit on the maximum number of posts. Even with the threads merged there should be free space to keep it going.

And I still think Lab Mouse is cool.

    Cheers!

Doesn't matter about the mixed-up convos, Lab Mouse. That happens in other threads too (multiple convos at the same time). And Nap's right about the server space.

Okay, how the ************ is this Quake related?

How the ************ is porn and mormons Quake related?

And when the ************ did this argument suddenly become about me?!!

You all need to grow up and learn to let things be.

I won't be at the tailgates, I won't be in the casbah. And I won't be here again.

This is it. I'm tired of the drama.

Go on with your stupidity. Who needs it!

    You're making it the drama.

You (and others) were listened to this morning, and got your way. Later today, several of us stood up for you.

    Lordy...

I'm apologizing for anything I have done to anyone. I know this all has nothing to do with me but I feel like I may have pissed some people off, namely IBT.

SJQF- come and visit once and awhile please...we'll miss you.

    Me??!!!!

    I didn't start this thread.

I didn't start the RIP SJQF thread.

And I didn't start the drama that started this. You did Robert. By deciding that you thought it best to close the random thread cuz two kids who got another poster kicked of of BS and who do nothing but post negative stuff towards all other posters on this board wanted you to. Congratulations for playing into their hands.

    To Whom it May Concern:

This forum is NOT pathetic. But what is pathetic are the thought police that feel compelled to critique/evaluate the posts of fellow Quakies. Who gave them that right?

Anh fought the good fight for a thread that allowed people to say whatever they felt like. Everyone knew it was there. No one had to read it. BS allowed it to stay. It should have been the end of it.

Anh wonders if we have to have a debate every time a thead is opened that some self-appointed Einstein finds objectionable.

    Free speech for all.

    Thanks in advance,
    Anh

    That was "drama"?

I wanted it moved because last year's "KC Cheats on Their Threads/Beat KC" monolith was moved to Free for All, and that set a precedent. Complaints just abetted that. Think what you want; I could care less.

And guess what? The thread didn't get moved, so whose hands really got played into?

    Jeez.

Anh says this is getting out of hand. We are all Earthquakes fans and we are addressing each other with the sort of venom that we should save for Diego Serna.

Let's stop fighting and observe free speech. Live and let live.

    Thanks in advance,

    Anh

    Just can it. Please.

And you didn't "fight the good fight." You commented on a thread. Plenty of people still believe the outcome was not good. And what makes them not "fighters of the good fight?"

Ever since the World Cup, this board has plummeted, and now, has crashed and burned.

We've lost one of my personal favorite posters, and since then i've made alot of "enemys" on this board..

Take a look back to Sacramento, to the guys who were there...
The BAQF was still a work in progress.. We were unceratain what the US would do this summer, and we were fresh off our championship.. Everyone was happy..

To tell you the truth, I used to be a huge Landon fan, and im talking HUGE, but that was before the WC and the Landobimbo's and Ahn came to town..

It seems in just rambling now, but really, I think this is ************ing ************************..

This board sucks now, its true its true, and I think im going to follow Erin's footsteps and leave..

This board should be changed officially to the 'Quakes BS (BU!!SH!T) board, and the actually Earthquakes fans can go back to talking about soccer, and having fun talking about our team..

We dont care about what you read, we dont care about abz, we dont care who you saw, we dont care about anything Ahn says..

Im hoping this board will clean itself up and these teenage girls just leave, and let us have this board back.. If not.. off to 'QuakesMagic, or start my own QUAKES boards..

Reply only if you think I wanted you to reply

    2 words to the teenyboppers..

    Peace Out

I think maybe I'll be leaving BS for a while (much to the delight of IBT). This is all just so ridiculous...I'll probably be back though...
