I don't know, I think he'll keep his place given that he's the best left footed who plays on the left wing that England have.

Nah, Downsyndrome is gone I reckon. Left footers on the left are overrated.

Heskey is gone. We have Crouch who is ********ing miles and miles better. (I can't believe how underrated Crouchy is).

lets hope Downing is gone and replaced by A. Young

Neville will most likely be dropped due to age, shame because he is and has been a great servant for his Country

lets hope that we also soon see the last of Alan Smith, Wes Brown, Jermaine Jenas, et al. Time for some fresh blood to brought into the squad.

but Crouch must continue to score against quality opposition to merit selection. I know he has a great scoring record, but how many of those teams are worth a shyte?

Given that he's not a first choice striker his strike rate is fantastic.

agreed and as you know that is not the argument. The argument arises that his strike rate is great against shyte sides but not very good when we need him to score. Perhaps if he was played more he would score more, which is a simple theory that should be explored. The argument that always arises with Crouch is quality of opposition... not that England are a quality side at the moment btw.

He's scored loads in the CL, plus he has fantastic technique. His heading, ironically, is his weakest asset along with his pace, but even they're decent enough.

If you ignore Rooney's brilliant Euro2004 Crouch's strike rate is better and that includes the quality of opposition.

agreed regarding Rooney but he has scored against some very good sides along the way- Argentina, Holland, Russia along with 2 against Croatia and one against Russia

Crouch- Uruguay, Croatia and 2 against Greece...

Well, if I was picking the team, I'd have Rooney playing in behind Crouch and Owen in a diamond. Don't think Don Fabio will go with that though.

Looks like a nice front three and with the likes of Gerrard/Lampard (who cares who plays anymore), Barry/Hargreaves, and J. Cole, that may be effective.

I hope it will be Fat Frank Lampard that is the first to be dropped because we don't need anymore evidence to see that a Fat Frank / Gerrard midfield partnership just doesn't work.
