Perez, Colidio and Soule nominated for golden ball. None of them will win it for sure but glad they get recognition.Perez for one is an elite talent.
He’ll surely get some minutes sooner or later and he’ll break the record for being the youngest player to play a La Liga match. There is this growing hype around him. It has certainly caught my interest but Mallorca are in the relegation battle right now. The last thing we’ll need is for them to go the second division.
I made a report on Luka Romero. https://footballtalentscout.net/2020/06/16/luka-romero/ Great talent.
Luka Romero is eligible for Argentina, Mexico and Spain. But that haircut leaves you no doubt that his allegiances lie with the Albiceleste. Business at the front, party at the back 🤟🏼 pic.twitter.com/arqv8boFnT— Tom Robinson (@tomrobbo89) June 24, 2020
Luka knows what’s up. At some point in your life, you’ve gotta have long hair to be a full blown Argentino. And he’s ours. Unless he doesn’t really live up to his prodigy status.
Fernando Redondo's son, Federico, has been called-up to train with Argentinos Juniors' first team squad. https://www.tycsports.com/liga-prof...ondo-a-la-primera-de-argentinos-20200818.html The 17-year-old plays as a midfielder and has previously been called-up to the U-15 NT. It will be interesting to see how he pans out and if the carrying of his father's legacy will weigh on him, but for now he seems to be heading in the right direction..
He’s got another son who was a product of Tigre. There was a little bit hype about him but that perhaps had more to do with him being the son of the legend. Nothing truly manifested with him. There is no shame in that but it tells you that more times than not a father doesn’t pass down his footballing genetics to his children.
You do sometimes get the son or daughter excelling in the same sport. More of a matter of being exposed to the sport from an early age with expert advice. More especially if both parents are sportspeople. Federico will have a lot to do to come close to Fernando who is one of the best players to ever pull on the blue and white and immensely underrated. Nonetheless Argentinos remain a superb club for educating youngsters on and off the pitch and providing top talent to the seleccion. If he even only is half his fathers capability he will still be a very fine player. The media should just let him develop quietly.
Manchester City have made a $10,000,000 offer for 17-year-old Dario Sarmiento, a promising AMF who made his professional debut with Estudiantes last season at the age of 16. https://www.ole.com.ar/estudiantes/sarmiento-city-messi-estudiantes-oferta_0_x3ET2imeK.html
Best advice for Sarmiento. Stay at Estudiantes. Develop your game by playing. The move will come later for certain but at at time when you are ready for it. They also seem to have their claws hooked into Almada. Apparently some pre-contract agreement. This is bad news. The same thing that happened to Garre would be ending up in the B squad or Youth team. They prioritized Foden over Garre for an obvious reason being home grown. All Argentines with any success in England have played a few years in Europe before parachuting in. Look at Casasola as another example. Zabaleta Espanyol, Aguero Atletico and Otamendia Valencia took the right route.
Amione is getting closer to a European move... to Hellas. Not my first choice but better than MLS,Russia or EPL. That some players flock to.
I wrote to our club asking them to keep an eye on him as a potential transfer target. So mature for his years, anticipation and positioning is advanced.
I watched Luka play and he looked comfortable on the ball again. He still gets mauled every time he has the ball. Just not physically ready to play with men and it shows. Awkward at times but still exciting to see him play.
Looks like we'll have yet another young centerback in Serie A: 21-year-old Lautaro Valenti, who has represented the Argentine NT at a youth level, joins Parma on loan from Lanus. Bienvenido, Lautaro Rodrigo #Valenti! ✍🏻💛💙🇦🇷📝➡️ https://t.co/LqMyQpz0X5#ForzaParma pic.twitter.com/6CjYNtzirm— 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝟏𝟗𝟏𝟑 (@1913parmacalcio) September 26, 2020 "Having only made his senior debut in 2019 it wasn’t until last season that Valenti became a regular for Lanús, starting every game under Luis Zubeldía as El Granate finished up in seventh. Valenti scored three times during the campaign but it was his defensive capabilities and excellent passing range that really caught the eye. Quick across the ground to cover in behind the left-back, Valenti looks to bring the ball out from the back and either carry into midfield or fire accurate long balls into the forwards. A trait that has been evident since his time in Lanús’ youth sides but has been honed at senior level so not to leave himself so exposed as it did on occasion in the reserves. Involved in the Argentina under-20 set-up over the past couple of years, Valenti will be pushing for a role in Fernando Batista’s Olympic squad in 2021 and a successful season in Serie A will certainly help his cause." Source Valenti had also appeared on Roma's radar in the current transfer window. In the end, the move to Parma was sealed as a loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season for €8M.
Just found out Ezequiel Garay's younger brother, Benjamin, is signed to Real Madrid... As described by the official RM website: A strong and uncompromising centre-back, Garay's speed of anticipation, which makes him a good at intercepting possession, is one of his biggest assets. He showcases his quality with some accurate long-range passes and is dominant in the air. His physical strength allows him to unleash shots from distance. His brother, Ezequiel Garay, was formerly a member of the first-team squad. "I'm a central defender who's good in the air and I also take free-kicks" - Benja https://www.realmadrid.com/en/football/academy/under-19/benjamin-garay Not sure if he's any good, but he has been in Real's youth academy for 10 years (signed in 2010 at the age of 10). I wonder how his career will pan out.. he should seek out a loan at a prominent team that will give him playing time.
Well like his brother he picked the wrong youth academy but hopefully he escapes that hell hole. Not in unrelated news, Barca have a young CB from argentina by the name of Santiago Mingo. He's been on the bench to start the year but that's due to lack of available options more than anything. Will keep an eye out though.
Despite already publicly stating that his intention is to play for Argentina, Luka Romero met up once again with the president of the Spanish football federation (RFEF) to discuss the possibility of representing the "Red Fury" at senior level. The pair were spotted chatting at a restaurant in Mallorca over the weekend, as they continue pressuring him to switch allegiances. https://as.com/futbol/2020/10/20/segunda/1603229730_996552.html
Hopefully, but it doesn't bode well and there's a precedent for it with Leiva in Villareal. Them getting a free rein at Argentinian talent is awful.
